Man I just wanted to make a thread about how much vegetables have played an integral part of my cut this year. Not a super exciting thread but if you know how desperate you can get when your cals are under 2,300 and carbs are super low you can appreciate this a little more! šŸ˜‚

My staples right now I keep in rotation and I even mix them together:

Chopped spinach frozen in a bag - just microwaved or skillet cooked (my favorite way to heat it up)

Fresh broccoli and Fresh cauliflower- steamed in the microwave with a lid on the the Tupperware

I was doing shredded lettuce iceberg and/or green leaf but it just wasn’t hitting the spot and it started to give me gas.

Chime in and let me hear what your favorite vegetables are when you options with food are limited!

We’re talking super restricted diets here!

I liked bell peppers and jalapenos. If need some larger amounts for volume....zuchinni, squash, salted as fuck cucumber.
Ate them all the time, but broccoli and cauli were not great on my digestion.

Damn man! Those sound so good but I’m opposite of you! The ones you listed would have me bloated and farting for days šŸ˜‚

I just do a veggie mix, carrots, broccoli, green beans with water chestnuts.
Munch on baby carrots to deal with my oral fixation lol

It would be easier for me to list the ones i don't eat. Just depends on what i am making. I eat a large amount whether i am gaining, loosing or maintain.

breakfast is always eggs with peppers, green mix (spinach, kale, chard), green onion, cherry tomato. ALL fruits as well.

Lunch I chop and shred kale, carrot, radish, cabbage (green or red), broccoli (all raw), boiled and chilled beets, homemade mayo type dressing. Add hard boiled egg, chicken or beef. It`s so much food and micronutrients but not much in kcal. Also meets my protein needs.

Microwaved veg is almost pointless if you are eating for the nutrition of food.

With dinner when I have time to make fresh, cucumber salad, broccoli, cauliflower, any veg really.

Bell peppers - but they're my favourite all the time. Love those fuckers.

Spring greens - shredded and cooked in air fryer with 5 spice seasoning.

Chocolate

french fries...

Every since I started eating tons of fruit a few months back I have basically forgotten all about vegetables. The only veggies I get are precooked inside the prepared food I buy.

Riced cauliflower seasoned with garlic salt, Flavor God cheese, and a little I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter spray.

Avocado, Asparagus, Brussel Sprouts are the main staples though I love tossing 2-4 cups frozen kale/spinach (and an orange) in my protein shakes.

The additional frozen greens add a nice texture/feel that makes the smoothies more satiating.

That’s what I’m talking about

Zucchini and yellow squash are cheap and among the most easily digestible - one of my top choices if vegetable volume gets high when rice portions are low.

Spinach - also super easy to digest, and I like the taste. Good for prep or off-season.

Asparagus is a favorite, but it's pricey, especially when you account for the water loss in cooking and the fact that ~1/3 of each stalk gets trashed. I buy it when it goes on sale.

Broccoli - as much as people malign it for being tough to digest. I don't eat it a ton when food is high, but it's awesome when food gets low. I don't have issues with it as long as it's not way overcooked. It's really good grilled.

That’s the only one? Gotta have some variety man!
Hahah, oh no! Was just the first that came to mind based on your question.

I also like arugula, baby boc choy and kale. I eat a lot of kimchi and sauerkraut too.

Squash, yellow or spaghetti.

Normandy Mix frozen vegetables.

Just to kill hunger : cucumber, raw peppers, celery.

Any suggestions for a butter substitute for the squash? I’m off the butter.
