what carbs work for u?

I have never tried any kind of beans as a carb source , red beans and black eyed peas dont seem to bother me much if i eat them without the rice , but butter beans absolutly kill me , i'll be doubled over with cramps wihtin an hr after eating them.

If i spread my carbs out they dont bother me to bad like a cup of oats at 5am then again at 5pm post workout but if i eat them at 5 and again at 8 or so i get bad stomach pains.

I have run Palumbo diet for a while and i feel good on that but when i added a couple hundred grams carbs from fruit i felt great , power went up as did all day sense of well being.

I wish i could tolerate rice and oats better , it would be a good cheap way to add calories
 
it changes all the time but white rice has been consumed a lot lately. i also have oats every day. so yea, pretty much white rice and oats. also whole wheat bagels and whole wheat tortillas (for chicken). for cheats, french fries or mashed potatoes
 
Oats, Rice,Banana and Veggies(Brocoli,aspargus)

Thats all my main source.
 
Big n shred I don't totally agree. If I eat linsead ezekiel type bread I feel fine. If I eat white bread or pasta I feel like shit.

I don't suffer from eating fruit oats work well.

Dude, I agree that excessive SIMPLE HIGH GLYCEMIC carbs are not the same as low-glycemic fibrous carbs. Did you see my meal plan? I don't eat white breads or pastas, and most of my carbs come from fruits, oats, and veggies.
 
I normally consume brown rice, oatmeal, waxy, dextrose, and fruit. Any type of pizza, pasta, or heavy carbs put me in a food coma for sure.

I've found by consuming more fruits and veggies as my carbs sources, I'm a lot leaner, with more energy.
 
Pineapple, blueberries, grapes, raspberries, strawberries, apples, oats, brown pasta, brown/white rice, sweet potatoes and manuka honey.
 
I completely agree with you that at the cellular level its not possible-however if eating beans or grains makes your intestinal tract full of gas-creating an uncomfartable situation. I think thats where the op's are going.

Your saying that they are not bad for you- but if they cause gas and or bloating in your digestive tract-then that would not be in their head would it?

My point is that some people bodies do not react well with certain carbs.

I agree with you in general that carbs in general get an undeserving bad rap.

Gas is not from the carbs! I thought the same, because I've had the same problem until visited my doctor...gas comes from the problems with digesting, with the problem with the stomach from the gastritis, gastro reflux etc...I get gas and feel bloated, sleepy if I combine high protein+high starchy carb (over 50g+ of both), moderate carbs and protein (no more than 30-40g both) works very well, actually even if i eat lower protein (20-30g per meal) and higher carbs 50-80g per meal I feel fine...smaller, more meals during the day = no gas and bloat...today guys are doing everything overboard: super mega high protein (none needs more than 300g a day , NOONE!!!) super high calories diets, megadosing drugs, super high or super low volume training etc which leads to health problems, digestive problems,overtraining or undertraining etc...just look at the guys whose was doing everything in moderate in the 90's - haney, labrada, draper, pearl, strydom etc- they are all still training, still looking somewhat as in the past (age did same damage)...that's because they don't pushed their bodies to the extremes, they put as much as required to win with minimal damage to the health.
 
Lactose from raw milk and Ezekiel bread.
I have not really had any refined cabs in a while….only when the wife makes cupcakes :)

Feel like a million buck right now…..when I did power lifting I ate everything and was a lot more sluggish
