What daily supplements do you take and why

Health is priceless.

But at some point, you have to take a step back and realize "am I over doing it?"
I wonder this often. I plan to do and "audit" soon and remove things I really don't think are crucial year round. The bag of pills I pack with my cooler pack everyday is ridiculous. There are definitely some items that aren't probably worth it.

Daily I take, cayenne, multi, and vitamin d. And then my protein in the morning and post.

This is becoming one of the most repeated threads here but it's always helpful.

Copied and pasted from my phone

Powders:
Creatine
Leucine
Taurine
HMB
Citrulline Malate
D-Ribose
Beta Alanine
Acetyl-L-Carnitine
Pine Bark Extract
Ashwagandha
Prebiotic
Heart Greens
Super Beets

Pills:
Ubiquinol
Curcumin
Vitamin E
Vitamin K2
Vitamin D3
Vitamin C
L-Lysine
Krill oil
Fish oil
Omega-7
Citrus Bergamot
PQQ
Arjuna
Astaxanthin
NAC
Selenium
Pomegranate extract
Garlic
Sulforaphane
Probiotic

Melatonin

Liquid:
Apple Cider Vinegar

Prescription: (I don't actually have an RX for these)
Metformin
Telmisartan
Cialis

It's one thing to be health conscious, although...

I'd be a wee-bit concerned with a potential negitive interaction(s), especially with higher doses of Vitamin E and K. Vitamin E may act as an antagonist, which could inhibit vitamin K-dependent carboxylase activity. This in-return could alter your coagulation cascade. And that's not to mention the other supplements/drugs that may interfere with your clotting cascade...?

All these supplements may seem harmless and healthy, although I'd be a little cautious.

NH I thought your blood pressure was fairly low. Do you have a problem with it going high on blasts? Although you don't really blast now do you. Why are you using carditone, telmisartan and cialis? I know they have multiple uses but just curious. Some of your other supplements such as Ubiquinol, magnesium and vitamin c etc are good for blood pressure too.

Are you in poor heath and still trying to juice to the gills?

I have to kind of agree with this...you just cannot keep adding and not subtracting. I take alot of supplements but there is a purpose there...and it pertains to either my bloodwork, my genetic heritage or im adding or subtracting to try to figure out why my bloodwork got effected from 4 months ago.....but i absolutely limit myself now and MAKE myself subtract something if anything new is added....i dont understand at all why you would be on carditone and telmisartan at the same time. I am doing krill now and made myself drop fish oil. At the same time you have to make a threshold for yourself and stick to it...and whenever you add something new you really also should be thinking ok "what do I deem not worthy".

Excuse me for saying this....but it is very true. When someone goes thru something as traumatic and life threatening as what you have been thru...it creates a hypochondriac syndrome where the worry about health is 50x greater than the normal person...and i understand that. Every single guy in this forum who in one day was faced with "ummm theres a good chance you wont see tomorrow"...I guarentee it they would really start looking at things differently toward their health......but with that can become this obsession....which i understand. I saw my father whittle away from a 205lb powerhouse to a 115lb riddled with cancer skeleton to his death. It effected me so greatly it changed my thought process. Much of my supplement intake is tuned toward cancer prevention....but i have to draw a line somewhere and I do....and my line is drawn and i think you should also. I would look at your list and decide what is not worthy...and make yourself do away with those. And then i would get to the point that if you study something and feel its beyond worthy, you MUST subtract if you add it in.

Some things you might want to question on your list are
HMB
Pine Bark
Vitamin E
Selenium<---there is some good but alot of bad that comes from extra Selenium you might want to read about that
Arg+ Orth<---I dont understand why you are taking arginine when you are taking citrulline malate
Garlic<--yes great product but if i was you i would make a decision of whether this makes it onto your list over another product
L-lysine<--unless you have a certain venereal disease I would pass on this
fish oil<--i would make the decision between fish oil and krill oil
Vitamin C<--i was kind of shocked to see you using this to be honest...because I gave you some recommendations on that hematocrit thread but I had no idea that you were taking a hefty dose of vitamin C. If you want your hematocrit and hemoglobin lowered the last thing you want to be taking is supplemental vitamin C (and vitamin E). There have been numerous studies that show vitamin C and (to a lesser extent vitamin E) greatly raise hemoglobin and hematocrit)

My point is this...I everyone should draw a threshold for themselves and stick to it.....and over time it will result in taking the best supplements for oneself and not taking 15 placebo's

I'm trying to not be in poor health in the future. People tend to turn to health supplements when soenthig serious happens and I believe that's the wrong way to go about things. I have been doing a stack similiar to this for the last 5 or so years and will continue to do so. Ped's don't do damage overnight they slowly strain the body over decades. These health supplements will hopefully relieve some of this strain for decades to come. I am healthy and do not juice to the gills but I do plan on running big cycles in the future. Maybe people think this is crazy but I feel that I am one of the few people on this planet that uses gear and these kinds of supplents from day 1 to finish.

Glucosomine
Chondroiton
D3
NAC or Milk Thistle or Liv 52 (varies)
R-ALA
Liquid Fish Oil
Tumeric
CO-Q-10
Kidney Blend
Centrum Multi
Vitamin C
Ginger Root
MSM
Arginine

Prescription: Amlodipine, Quinapril, crestor (3X per week)

Why...cause Im old.

Seriously...because I have kidney issues, BP issues, joint issues, pre-diabetic, high cholesterol and my penis is too big.

Obviously a guy can do what he wants. If he wants to use 40 health supplements per day then great. He definitely won't need them all but if the worst that can happen is unneccesary money being wasted then it's not bad if he can afford to do that. My concern would be how all these different supplements interact with oneanother. Moreover everything you put into your body creates an reaction of some sort.

My concern would be for guys taking loads of supplements thinking they are harmless that they could actually be worsening their health. Sometimes guys need to stop and step away and look at things as a whole and not get carried away. Fact is 100's of health supplements can give many benefits so over the years you could easily keep on adding and adding. There has to be some balance to things.

I am the last to preach but Nothuman is a mate of mine and sometimes I look at his supplement stacks and would hate it for the sheer volume to actually be worsening his health in certain areas (possibly hct and hgb) and not benefitting it like he thinks they are. Sometimes less is definitely more. I used to take loads of supplements so know how easy it is to get carried away and I have always been healthy so nevermind going through a health scare like he has. In fact I am using too many myself right now but will be lowering them as I got a bit carried away.

He is gonna read this thread thinking wtf everyone is having a group session about me ;):D

Vitamin E and K together can raise hematocrit or just clotting ability? I feel like these are two things commonly stacked around here. Should I simply drop E?

Elvia, I am not taking carditone. That was an accident.

My blood pressure is low on my home monitor (life source) but has ranged between 113/58 to 130/80 at most doctors offices, so it's very confusing to me as far as what to believe
