Ok. This is going to sound strange but it is totally true. I squat 200lbs + the bar. I'm not a bodybuilder so this is a lot. It's also more than most people in my La fitness.
However, I recently tried to go down far enough where my quads are parallel and a little below parallel. I really tried hard but when I got just below parallel, I just could not push the weight up. In order to get a set of 12 squats that go just below parallel, I could only do 50lbs + bar. My 200lb + squat goes about 45 degrees or like a starting position on a deadlift.
So for the purposes of building muscle...do I stick with the 50lb squat and go up from there or the 200lb squat and go up from there?
