Back in the day i trained down in Texas getting ready for a bodybuilding show, 2011 i believe, and the owner of one of the metroflexes said hed help me contest prep for free and I could train with him, he had a trwining crew of 6 or 7 dedicated hard training guys, mostly younger fellas in their 20s like me.
He alwasy would yell at us to go stretch when we started coming in, most of them would half ass it and or tell him about this study and that study that said stretching was bad for you. I alwasy followed him around and did his exact stretch and warmup routine because he was(and still is) one of the coolest most badass dudes ive ever met (325 pound strongman) and i wanted to be just like him, i was 23 at the time. Everyone else in our group constantly had impingemnet and movement issuses and tore shit and pulled stuff but he and i were always 100 percent and never had an issue.
Since 2011 ive alwasy done a full body stretching warm-up routine and have added in some activation and dynamic movements here and there as ive learned more things. Takes maybe 15 mins on the longest warmup day(max effort lower body) As a result Ive never had a serious training injury and have full comfortable movement in all my lifts
