what do you guys do when you are lacking motivation?

I dont know what my deal is latly but i dont have the motivation to go to the gym this is the first time in years this has happend. as soon as i get there i just dont feel like doing anything im just basically going through the movements. and i dont have the motivation to eat either i seem to have just lost my appetite dont feel like eating i went from 7 to 8 meals a day to now im down to eating 3 even 2 on somedays. i feel like im wasting away but i just cant get back on track. any suggestions?
 
Maybe it's time to take a break. A couple days off.
 
A break for a month will do it. By the end you cant wait to get back in the gym. Or try No explode, it will get you motivated lol.

I keep my motivation by always having a goal/occasion to work for. For instance, my goal/occasion right now is going home for xmas. I have people that haven't seen me for a year, so I want to look good. Next would me my family trip to the Bahamas in April, after that a trip in July. As long as I have trips and such, I can always stay motivated.
 
I think about the guys that didn't lose motivation that are going to be standing next to me on stage next year.
 
Slap the shit outta the biggest guy closest to you .
If that don't get you going nothing will !..............

Keep constantly aware of your goals .
 
It's time for you to take a break. Your body and mind are telling you that your overtrained and your cns is fried. Take a week off. You'll feel a lot better.
 
Like it's been said, take a couple weeks off. I know, easier said than done, but if you haven't taken time off in a long ass time, like most OCD bodybuilders (redundant, I know), you're probably super overtrained.
 
1.Take a break
2. Get away from ALL! bodybuilding activities, boards, mags, diet ect and Do somethings you've wanted to do recreationaly, go skiing, visit someone pick up on an old hobby, you get the idea
3. Go and see a show. That fires me up big time!
 
if you have been working hard for awhile, take a break it will help alot
 
I usually think about it over a couple of Stone Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ales.

then ask yourself what would you not do?
That usually does it for me.

By the sounds of your post you have a little more going on than lack of motivation. A break with some serious down time for reflection sounds might be the best course of action for you imo....

thanks guys. ya i think im goin just take a week or two off and get my head on straight then hopefully i can get back into again. my buddy is actually going to be in a show coming up later in the month im goin to go watch him. and that should help motivate also.
 
I'm sure a little time off would do wonders. I also like to look at a real old fat pic of myself and that is all the motivaton I need. I have also been changing up my lifting partners and it's fun to train with someone different every once in a while. Good luck!

you are asking what can i do to get my ass in the gym??? i mean, YOU goto the gym cuz YOU want to,,,you want me to suggest a video? nice aggressive music? make you feel miserable so you get angry and go in? suggest uyou a sick cycle with tons of harsh stuff? suggest lots of stimulants? see,,,you are going to get hurt, just quit and find out whats wrong with you...dont force it. you ever play bball and force up a shot, shit will never go in man.

If this is your inspiration and motivation for him, not bad.

If this is your honest suggestion, you have a lot to reconsider.

It's time for a break bud, it's nothing to feel bad about, it's part of the vicious cycle of this sport. One's body can only handle so much, once you reach that limit, your body needs a break. It will feel like night and day when you have fully recovered and CNS is back on track.
