What do you take to stop frequent night time bathroom breaks?

Well, if you are drinking a lot of fluids prior to bedtime, you may want to cut back there first before throwing more stuff into the mix for a fix. If that doesn't help, or is not the issue, then look into supps/meds for help if needed.
 
Undiagnosed-uncontrolled sleep apnea will having you up peeing several times throughout the night.

Something to think about.
 
Saw Palmetto and not dosing so high that side effects like this happen. Other than that pretty much tolerate it until after the cycle when things go back to normal.
 
5mg cialis daily works wonders.

I do the same thing, using it for BPH, as as a prophylactic, preventive. So far so good.

My prediction is that is will be the most widely prescribed medication for men once
the cost comes down due to generics and the insurance companies 'get it'

And getting back to the OP, Cialis and not drinking a ton of water after dinner for
example will help. Although, I drink 2 liters of water at dinner (6PM), I rarely
have to get up in the middle of the night to urinate. And I am 66.

Cialis may not be a wonder drug for this (there are others) but it seems to work
for me.

Side effects from supplements and their doses can also cause frequent urination. If your body doesn't need or absorb something, you can be sure it will get rid of it. This is often very overlooked because our cupboards are full of containers and a lot of us blindly follow doses on the label or what's recommended when that might not necessarily be what we need.

Anorgasmia on occasion (3+/- times per year) is the only issue I've encountered over the last 7-8 years I've taken daily 5mg Cialis. When that happens I'll drop it for a week or so.
 
Personally when on blast I always do better with not having the bladder filling up at night, when on a lower cruise or going off I have more issues.. Gives me a theory on why so many guys have prostate issues when they're older along with their lower T levels.
 
As guys that have more orgasms have less prostate issues, I usually work at it from that end. Course that is more long term in general. But i would be open to the placebo effect as well.
 
Prostapollen and Pygeum bark work for me. I may get up once, maybe twice if I am hot or otherwise disturbed.
Used to get up 3-4 times per night.
 
Ditto on the sleep apnea comment. I would also check your blood sugar, or if you've done your blood work recently, check your A1C number. Seems crazy, but you'd be surprised how the blood sugar can creep up if your diet isn't right and a high A1C/high glucose will cause frequent urination at night.
 
If your blood work is normal, just don’t drink anything within an hour or two of going to sleep and pee as much as you can beforehand and you should be good. You aren’t going to stroke out from dehydration in your 70 degree room if you are staying hydrated throughout the day.
 
sleep apnea is a bitch. I think the options have come along way since the machines first came out but that is a big culprit. low dose cialis helps alot from some of my clients also.

As long as I don't consume liquids within 1-2 hours before sleeping I can make it until morning. On those nights when I have a late night beer or two with a friend I'm urinating 2-3x overnight.

I have sleep apnea and use a cpap too. It definitely has made a difference

Findings may improve the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea and nocturia in older adults. "Sleep researchers know that nocturia is a sign of sleep apnea," says Mary Umlauf, Ph.D., associate professor of nursing at UAB and lead investigator of the study. "However, because the underlying mechanisms linking sleep apnea and nocturia had not been studied before, people with nocturia were more likely to report the problem to their gynecologist or urologist, not a sleep clinician. Doctors most often attribute nocturia to aging in women or to prostate problems in men." Umlauf explains that during episodes of sleep apnea, the soft structures in the throat relax and close off the airway, setting into motion a chain of physiological events. "Oxygen decreases, carbon dioxide increases, the blood becomes more acidic, the heart rate drops and blood vessels in the lung constrict," says Umlauf. "The body is alerted that something is very wrong. The sleeper must wake enough to reopen the airway. By this time, the heart is racing and experiences a false signal of fluid overload. The heart excretes a hormone-like protein that tells the body to get rid of sodium and water, resulting in nocturia."

 
Stop drinking water 3hrs before bed, ensure your estrogen is in check, low does cialis and/or flowmax, and prostagenics. Im in my mid 50s and have had to deal with this for a few years. I'm prescribed the flowmax and cialis and coupled with the protagenics, I get up once a night... down from 4-5 times.
