He was one of my favorite bodybuilders as a kid. I use to think hats how I want to look. Size, symmetry and balance.


Interview and story about him. He had developed leukemia.

I've heard rumors that things just went to crap on him, personal life, etc, but this is just hearsay. He just dropped out of the scene.

He is in the Northern California area, Fresno I believe. Emeric knows him pretty well and I am pretty sure he still stays in contact with him. He was really good as "Jake Steele" in the movie "No Pain, No Gain" Emeric's training system was featured in that movie as well as a cameo from Emeric.

I went to a shawn ray seminar around maybe 1996/97, who mentioned he was good friends with dennis newman at the time. he commented on the fact dennis had taken up with some model who completely sucked him dry and took him for everything.

dude i was just thinkin of this like a week ago!i came across some old mags from the early 90's and wonder what happened to so many of them.i wish there was a site like the VH1 "Where are they now?" but for bodybuilders.Tim Belknap,Eddie Robinson,Don Long,etc. that would be great!

I met him at the Emerald Cup around seven years ago. Much smaller of course, but still has those incredibly wide shoulders. He's one of those guys like Reeves; so handsome, people stop and stare.

He did have leukemia, and recovered thanks to a new (at the time) treatment where they took out some of his own bone marrow, purified it, and put it back.

His doctored speculated that GH might have triggered the onset of the disease, but that was only a guess. In any case, you have to be genetically predisposed to it.

He has had a very bad history with women using him and dumping him. He's too nice for his own good, IMO.
