WHAT EXERCISE BUILDS THE LOWER PECK

I would like your opinions on what works best for building the lower part of your Peck's have good development of the upper peck but nothing in the lower half.

you can't isolate the lower pecs. you got what you got from genetics. regardless if you are doing flat bench, decline, flyes or whatever, the pec contracts as a whole muscle and not in sections.

Good advice. Please do not believe these yahoos that say dips or lower cable isolation movements........what a quack!
 
Thanks guys i had a felling that the genetics thing would come in to play. just have to work with what a have i guess.

-bench press
Do this till you gain 30 pounds, then tell me if your lower pecs are bigger or not

Hold on though.Isnt the upper chest isolated some what from the rest of the chest.I actually thought you could develop your upper chest alone.I understand though for the lower chest .Its all or nothing contractions..

NO! The chest is only comprised of two muscles. Pec major and pec minor. Any and all chest movements work the entire chest region. You can however place more emphasis on the upper portion by changing the angle of your presses. Truth of the matter is there is no such thing as upper middle or lower pec. it is Just Pectoralis major!
 
Everyone has their own opinion and knowledge as to what works but it usually is what works for them. I have seen the results from the test that determine what part of the muscle is working more when doing certain movements and I believe they have some validity. My suggestion to you is to finish your chest workout with a tri-set of the following exercises done with perfect form and contractions and squezing targeted area.
1.BW dips,elbows out chin tucked on chest to failure
2. DB pullover to failure
3. dip machine, same form as reg. dips or any seated chest press machine that allows you to put the seat up high, and squeze after every rep for 3 seconds

Do this after you finish your other chest exercises and stick with it for a few months. Make sure your diet is right or nothing will work!

There are ways to make a part of the chest do most of the work but in reality your chest is working as a whole. Also don't pay attention to everyone that has something to say on here.
