What gets that heavy weight up? How do YOU do it?

I used to love lifting to house/techno music, back when I listened to that stuff.. I would literally wait for my favorite part of the song before I started my set, lol.. Something about thumping bass-ey beats got me in the zone chief, where I'd pump the weight up in a mechanical fashion..

i normally just listen to the start of the song and when i begin lifting i really don't hear the song any more. when the set is done, i then begin to hear my music again, but don't really pay attention to it. its weird. with that said i've been listening to a bunch of dmx, eminem and some older rick ross stuff for my sets.

Wow so many metal heads :p

Im more into tech / hard energy / trance..

A few favourites:

Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400

I love trance too bro. Do you like George Acosta, he's one of my favorites. Also like Yoji Biomehanika, ATB, Dave Ralph, John Digweed, etc.

I have more but Trance is harder to find on YouTube :(

I'm getting old (39). For me its Pantera, Slayer, old-school Metallica & Megadeth. Thanks to the guys that posted links to some of the newer bands. Some of them sound good. Others have that "CookieMonster/electric cattle prod shoved up my ass" vocal delivery that doesn't do much for me. Others sound good but the production is just too slick and perfect sounding for me. Listen to Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" album. They double-record Tony Iommi's guitar parts on "War Pigs", and you can hear one recording is a little out of tune from the other....yet it still to this day sounds EPIC. You can use pro-tools to make everything sound perfect, but if you asked me most bands lose something in the process. I guess I'll just keep being the big old guy at the gym that still listens to a discman with "Master of Puppets" blasting at ear piercing volume.

mr Sandman from Metallica for heavy workout works well lol :D

but in general Im stucked to the good old 50 cent in my ipod

energy..........

emotions generate energy. Love and Hate are two of the strongest.
I used to date a chick that was a former NPC Ms Alabama. Lived together...Almost got married. SHE listened to alot of techno.

Now I do ...when I need a jolt. Thinking of her always get the weight up.
Listening to that music puts me in a ZONE. Thinking of her...
is my secret weapon!

Then afterwards I need to go for a long walk...
kinda weird ...but it works.
