What have you learned in the last year?

Well firstly, I never said that and I specified that it’s really none of my business. Secondly, the “and then” is that testosterone might not be viewed as a dangerous “drug” and some poor hypogonadal dudes and their doctors might not be so afraid of a little TRT.

They are all over the place. There was a time in my youth I thought this was badass..loading up on gear, pushing the food and scale saying fuck it...get big or die trying. Now that im in my 40s....im glad injury derailed my pursuit of being massive. More than happy being lean, athletic, healthy. I respect anyone's goals and creating the body they want but anyone on gear saying tracking calories or dieting is "too hard" or "too much work" im going to disagree. You have the time to research, buy, inject PED but don't bother to eat clean or be precise with diet? I don't get it.
Bouncing off of this comment, but in a slightly different direction. I am absolutely mind blown how many times people inquire with me and know nothing, and have a had time grasping basic concepts, and not even talking full blown coaching or prep...I do a lot of free consults and / or paid one time consults just to give them guidance, and let them go on about on their own. They just simply don't need full blown coaching.

I mean these are like super intelligent people, investment bankers types, some are higher level execs. These people still cannot grasp how fat loss occurs, how to accurately track food, pair foods, etc. Like I am obvious not lost on the idea that it takes some time and dedication to track and eat according to your goals, especially if you are new to it, but one thing it does not take is brains lol. I mean you are successful guy who got an MBA from Wharton and work in a highly respected role, but cannot follow how CICO works. Then they just want to reach for the peptides or OTC "fat loss" products. I mean peptides can be great and shit, but why not knock out as much progress you can by following a plan, and then take your progress to the next level with the peptides after you have milked everything you can out of the easy shit?
 
Because I don’t believe responsible steroid use is inherently that unhealthy compared to most other scheduled and controlled substances. Granted, there is less enforcement against steroids but the public perception is still pretty negative.
I believe that public perception about steroids being poor is not because of guys using it recreationally to be jacked, it is because any time steroids are a topic, it is become some athlete tested positive for a PED in a tested sport. So the connotation becomes they are used for "cheating" and trying to gain an unfair advantage over a non using competitor. But the public knows nothing about them in reality.

Countless times I have had people ask me if I think someone that is obv using "is that guy on something". They think way more that actually is achievable natty actually is so, so they view a guy using roids, even in the gym, as "he is less dedicated" "or he is taking a shortcut" because why wouldn't he "just do it the right way?" They feel this way because they do not realize that the person they are talking about could never look the way they do without them. It is not a shortcut or cheating, it is using them to get to a place you couldn't get to otherwise. Now, I do recognize that some guys rely on the drugs to make up for laziness in other areas like their diet or training, that if those areas where better could probably make even more gains, but I do not believe that is majority of guys, however I do not know that. I just assume based on this board. What I do know is that no one in the actual natural bodybuilding community thinks they are better, or morally superior or any of that horseshit by staying natural, or "doing it the right way" which is a trope that is often kicked around.
 
That at 62, age is just a number.

Inspiring words for a 54 y/o man wonderring how many years I still have left in the game. Thx... need that ecouragement every now and again.
 
Only thing i learned last year is that 46 feels fkn old. Most important thing ive learned over the last few years is how incredibly important the sleep cycle is.
