Mike, No-Synthesize from VPX has "BIS PICOLINATO OXO VANADIUM (BPOV)"
How different is that from BMOV in terms of efficacy?
Just doing a quick google, it seems to be effective as an insulin mimetic, but I am not seeing much research in humans...
Orally active and long-term acting insulin-mimetic vanadyl complex:bis(picolinato)oxovanadium (IV). - PubMed - NCBI
A new halogenated antidiabetic vanadyl complex, bis(5-iodopicolinato)oxovanadium(IV): in vitro and in vivo insulinomimetic evaluations and metallok... - PubMed - NCBI
I wasn't talking about No Synthesize, but an older product that I don't think they make anymore. Regardless, you may be right in that it contained BPOV rather than BMOV. I don't really recall which form it was, as it was about 15 years ago now. Still, they are both very similar.
I don't believe BPOV has been studied in human as much as BMOV (bis maltolato oxovanadium) and BEOV (bis ethylmaltolato oxovanadium), both of which have been studied in humans quite a bit.
These, along with BPOV, are organic forms of vanadium, unlike vanadyl sulfate, which is inorganic. Inorganic forms tend to accumulate in body tissues (such as bone), while also being substantially more toxic and a fraction as effective.
BEOV and BMOV were both considered as potential prescription drugs, but BEOV won out and is currently in Phase II clinical trials. However, both are very similar in terms of effectiveness and safety, as they are almost the same compounds.
