What is trashing my joints all of a sudden?

How's it going gentlemen, could use some input here. All of a sudden my joints are a mess I can barely squat or lunge which has never been an issue before, my knees feel like they are going to explode.....sure I'm older than ever but this is very sudden and it's not just my knees it's all my joints at once so I wouldn't pin it on that.

Here is my current list of what I'm using:

200mg cyp per week
3.3iu GH per day

Dutasteride

Orange triad multi
Berberine
Probiotic
Fiber Powder
J-Flex 9 (joint supplement!)
Taurine
Catalase
Tudca
NAC
Krill Oil
Ubiquinol
Evening Primrose Oil
Pycnogenol
Collagen with Hylauronic Acid Powder



Can anyone point to anything on this list which may be causing this? Most I've taken for many years, the ones I can say are newer are the J-flex 9, catalase, pyconogenol and NAC but hell those are supposed to help with joints! Maybe something is interacting with something else I'm not sure but it's getting pretty frustrating that all of a sudden I have the joints of an old man that can barely move, something specific is causing it.

How often are you squatting?
How consistent are your leg workouts ?

Weekly squatting and/or lunging, or at least I used to as the last few weeks I haven't been able to. Leg lifts aren't an issue so far so I've been doing a lot of those instead and this week I was able to barely tolerate some front squats with really low weight. But hell even without weight my knees are barking, along with my elbows and shoulders. If it was just knees I would say okay maybe yea I'm just old now even if it was really sudden but it's all my joints at once.

I actually stopped the running and replaced it with the elliptical a few weeks ago thinking that was the culprit.
 
How long has it been going on. Might just have some low grade infection/virus/cold that’s causing inflammation but not enough to be causing other symptoms 🤷🏻‍♂️

When’s the last time you took a deload week?

I was dog sick in september with something that was going around and took almost two weeks off not really by choice, that counts right?

You haven’t been taking anything like ibuprofen or aleve?

I mean I wouldn’t take em EVERY day but there’s been times when I tweak a joint that I’ll have to take nsaids for a week or two straight to get it back to normal.

Personally I like Aleve for lower back and leg issues, ibuprofen for everything else.

Also my joints can’t hang when I’ve been under-eating. Pump up the carbs especially, get the glycogen filled up so at least the muscles around the joints are fuller and able to stabilize better
 
Have you spent much time outdoors or have pets that play outdoors and could have brought ticks in?

No I wish I've been spending time outdoors been stuck in my office and no more pets for me never again hurts too much.....different topic. Good outside the box thinking though...

@dimethyl11 been on 3.3iu pretty consistently.



I normally take at least a month off EVERYTHING in January, I'm thinking to maybe to do that early this year so I can determine if the supps were actually the culprit and then slowly add them in. Stumped here....
 
Might be worth scheduling some time with a rheumatologist just to be safe

Aside from usual things like AI overuse, dehydration, excessive load bearing; sudden onset of joint issues can be something that requires more expertise

Yea I was going to suggest arthritis.. good call on rheumatologist
 
How old are you?

Maybe your joints are simply starting to wear out.

I just turned 47 and in the last couple of months have developed elbow pain I never had before, same with both acromioclavicular joints.
 
It could be a variety of things from general wear and tear, training/volume related, hydration, dietary, illness etc. Although the first thing I thought of when I read this thread was HGH. Joint pain is a common side effect from HGH and I have experienced it myself. Literally going from lifting heavy to barely being able to leg press 2pps because I added in or upped my HGH dose. I see it's not the HGH so perhaps it's from a viral infection or similar. How long have you been using dutasteride? I would suggest 1 week out of the gym and load up on the likes of curcumin, ginger and bromelain. Have you had a blood test done recently? I would recommend getting everything tested as that could lead you in the right direction of finding out what is off.
 
Are you coming off higher doses in the last few months ?
