Well I've taken a lot away from it even though I've only been lifting for 5 ish years (naturally, plan to stay that way and had underwhelming results since 3-4 years was spent dieting into a whole, crashing and burning, trying to recover & just life being life throwing random shit at you)

#1 There are no lies when it comes to the iron.. If I've been eating crap or sleeping like crap it shows when I workout in my performance.
#2 Looking good / slim / big won't make me happy. Happiness comes from the inside out, not the other way around. So does sexiness and so many other things.. I could be a lardass but still feel sexy and be sexy (if to no-one else, to myself) because inside my being I feel sexy.
#3 and for anything to be sustainable it has to be fun and enjoyable.. I can willpower my way through some shitty workouts where I slept like crap n so forth, but if it's only a drag why do it.. important to find enjoyment in things as enjoyment & a balanced life is pretty much the purpose of life for me.. along with some cool goals that I'll enjoy the road getting to..

so the most important part I've learned is enjoy the road!
