Ive been personal training for the last 2 months now, and it has been enjoyable and the moneys not bad either. It has been fun training up kids to put on size and helping the ladies firm out but now Im in such a dilema, I have this 2 ton beast and I agreed I would help him out and hes even paid me in advance. But the problem is he cant even fit on most of the equipment at the gym. This is gonna be tough, if anybody can give me a few ideas I would be gratefull.

Thanks:)

Get him to walk around the block each day and to eat one less burger each day.

Yes bro

woman with tight asses are easy to train. Get creative and get him doing something. I like the abs diet!

Wolf, first thing you have to do with this guy is to get the weight loss process started. He needs to do some hardcore Bootcamp style training with weights and cardio. Do you have access to any boxing facilities??? If yes start with a good fifteen minute cardio warmup on a bike or treadmill. Easy first five minutes and then hard ten minutes. Get a heart rate monitor and have him start at 70% of max HR. as his fitness improves get up to 80% max. Then get the focus pads out and go two minute rounds. High upper cut type punches, then jabs, then left right crosses. 3 of those rounds, then heavy bag for 5 x 1minute rounds. Crunches 3 x20 reps and puhups 3 x 20 reps. All supersetted. After that 30 minutes on a treadmill at 75-805 max HR. This needs to be done at least four times a week. You can slowly incorporate weight trainig into the mix down the track. This is a good starting point!

roll um in flower and poke at the wet spots....oh thats fat chicks.....

Is he too heavy for your cardio equipment?
Take him to a track (high school or college) and have him walk laps around it. Start off slow for about 10 minutes but then make him speed walk. He is probably too big to jog safely so push the intensity on the speedwalking! A burger hanging from a pole oughta do the trick!
Does he have any medical history?

He is VERY obese so take care of his joints during cardio.

I recommend only low to VERY low impact cardio use a GOOD AND HEAVY stationary bike who can resist this FATMASS and/or a swimming pool with a depth of NO MORE than 1,5 meter if not you will be unnable to save him.

His joints CAN'T resist any other cardio than that.

Make it swim like tarzan until he lose 60 kgs of fat!(132 Lbs). :D

If he has not been active...well that is a given, but have him start off in a POOL. you will save his knees and hips this way.

get his EATING under control that is the #1 place to start

Tell him to go to sleep starving and do 1:30h of light cardio first thing every morning. Aim for 1 kilogram per week average. It would take around 1 year to get him in acceptable shape. Obviously, cut carbs and dairy.

No one worried this guy may have a heart attack doing cardio. What about doing weights? I have seen good research where they gave obese people 5 min cardio session 5 to ten times a day and got the same results as one big session but it did not overstress the cardiovascular system. His metabolism and hormones are going to be so screwed. Its a long term process at least 2 yrs minimum but good on the guy and good luck to him

Thanks alot for your help guys. Im giving him a weight training program as well with supersets, yesterday he stopped training halfway through and said that his leg hurt. It really is going to be one challenge to motivate this guy, Im not in this one for the money, if I could help him I could most probably save his life.

Yeah, gotta get clearance from his doctor first, obviously...

these are all great suggestions for you wolf. however the one thing I have learnt with obese people over the last 10 years is that there is usually a deep seated psychological issue involved, perhaps lack of self worth, abuse, loss etc, etc. and until that is dealt with they will continue those same selfd defeating thoughts, and as a result, self abusive actions.

lets try and get ouch that hurts involved here he would ber the one to ask:(

first teach him nutrition, then get him moveing, then praise him, encourge ect, when youre a fat motherfucker like this dude the first 50 kg is easy to loose,I bet the farm he has huge calfs;)

IMO, this is whats going to set you apart from being a 'typical' trainer. Look at this as a good challenge, and you can change this guys life forever if you do it right.

i have used squats, deadlifts and low intesity cardio, like 2 warm up sets of 12-15 then 4 sets of 6-8. then low intesity cardio. they feel great and burn fat with the cardio, the high intesity of the lifts help release positive feeling, which keeps them coming back and the low intesity cardiolike power walking helps shred the fat. ab work after a week then add basic compound exercises to the routine. the key thing for sucess is to keep them coming back so they actually get results. best of luck

ohhhh

thats a hard one bro. dont train him too hard in start, you need to get him build some stamina first, keep him on cardio and light weight training only.
Ask him his age, medical history.
It can be serious as well, here some fitness people killed some fat women while trying to get em lose weight. Dont give him roids etc, not even fat burners
