What time of day do you train?

I love the morning workout. Fresh, strong... The only problem is the stress of the day takes the piss out of me throughout the day when what I really want to do is just lay down and eat.

Versus the night workout which can sometimes be lackluster due to the day you're putting behind you but... then you can just lie around all night eating.

So when do you get your ideal training session?

after work - around 5pm
if i would not have to work i would probably say morning after first meal at around 11.. but this is not doable.

I prefer to train first thing after waking, but that doesn’t work for me right now. I train at 515 am after my 10 hour shifts on Tuesday and Wednesday, and then at 8 am on Saturday and Sunday

I like to train around 7,8 pm at night after working all day. My body just feels more warmed up and ready to go

I work nights so it honestly varies so much even just day to day. I don’t really have a schedule, I just get it in when I can. Usually that’s evenings so I’ll sleep after work so about 930-330pm then go to gym after couple meals it’s around 6-630. Or if I got stuff to do in evening I’ll go in morning after work . But those workout are the hardest and really jus trying to get in and get out cuz I’m tired no matter what and strength is at most like 80% on a good morning. My absolute favorite most productive time is late afternoon /evening on my off days. Cuz then I’ll have multiple meals in me no time restrictions etc.

Anytime btw 2pm to 8pm
Any time before or after, I'm too tired

I can’t do weight lifting in the morning. Always felt weak when Ive tried it. My sweet spot is usually 4pm.

First thing in the morning..haven’t worked out in 2 months though lol

When I'm doing 2 a days cutting, I legitimately don't remember working out in the am, around 6ish. It's like I'm in cruise control, the scariest part is the workouts are heavy and intense. I'm more mentally aware in the evening it seems.

I either train at 5:00 a.m. or 6:30 a.m.
I train fasted always. (EAA'S during).

This is what I've been doing. Very early, before my first real meal. I find then that post-workout all those macros are gobbled up nicely. AM cardio same deal. Fasted.

9am now that I work 3-11 shift
wake at 6:30 have a a few egg whites and a few dates at 7:30 then head to the gym.
I prefer this to training in the evening when it's crowded.

I prefer about 3. If i'm working it usually ends up being slightly later than that, but I pretty much always finaggle my schedule to be somewhere close to 7-3 so then I can train close to when I want.

Exactly what I do but I add a scoop of highly branched cyclic dextrin to my intra shake! I have young kids that play lots of different sports so I have to train first thing in the morning.

God bless ya heavyhitter, couldn't imagine training after a full 10 hour shift. I give you a lot of credit for doing that

Personally, always preferred early in the morning after meal 1

that's awesome man. personally, I had to do it for a short period of time and hated it, found it far from optimal, but that was just my experience

Summertime 10-12hr days suuuuck!!!!! By the end of the day I’ve rotated out 4 shirts twice from being soaked in sweat. Sweat through one, take it off and toss it on the hood of the truck to dry, and put on one of the fresh spares! Makes for a lot of dirty laundry, but it’s not the most comfortable with a shirt stuck to you like you went swimming with it on.

Used to come home and sweat my balls off again cause I didn’t have AC in my home gym, but I corrected that in 2020! Installed one of those ductless units! Keeps my gym a cool 64*!!!! There are many days after work in the summer I have to force myself out there to workout! If I had to drive somewhere to get to a gym I most likely would not make it. So kudos to those that drive to the gym especially after a physically taxing day!

* Note: If interested I bought the 1.5 ton Mr. Cool DIY ductless system. Took me 1hr from start to finish to install. The system cost like $1800. If you can follow directions then you can EASILY install one of these too! Even if you’re not a handyman.

First thing in the morning. Depepending when I wake up, sometimes as early as 4:30am, sometimes 5:30am.
