I'm in college now and getting into the gym in the evenings is a joke because everyone goes to the gym in the evenings (4pm till close).

I've read different articles with different "facts" of when the best time to hit the gym is, but they all have different times.

Over the summer I was in the gym EVERY evening on mon, tue, thur, and frid. However, I see myself losing focus if I can't find a decent time to hit the gym here. Last year I went to the gym in the morning but I feel like I wasn't able to make gains as well working out in the morning as I did this summer working out in the evenings.

When do you USUALLY workout?

What time do you wake up in order to get to the gym at 8am? Do you take/eat anything pre-workout? Wouldn't your body be depleted of nutrients and other stuff if you workout right when you wake up?
 
I'd have to agree with you. I am a student also, and 4pm-close is crazy crowded. I personally like to lift earlier in the day than later, but I kind of make it into the gym whenever my day's schedule allows me to. If I had a preference, I'd say I like morning, but to be honest I end up in the gym more in the 3-5pm range. I'm no expert, but I think as long as your training hard and getting proper nutrition it shouldnt make too much of a difference when you train.
 
In the summer we trained in the evenings, but now that the kids are back in school we are back in the gym around 12:00.
 
i workout at 10.00pm in the evening.. the kids are in bed, the wife is snoring and i can go into the room and crank some tunes and have a good workout.. i tried mornings.. no way.. not going that route again.. late night is best for me..;)

Get up at 3:00, leave the house at 4:30 . . . the gym opens at 5:00. The idiots role in at 6:30, so I get 90 mins of peace.

I'm stronger in the evenings than mornings, but working out in the morning just turbocharges my day. The 10p.m. thing is cool too, though, especially if you have your own home gym(which I no longer have). Its too crowded between 5-7pm, but usually crowds fall off around 7-8pm.

Cardio in morning (ONLY NON WEIGHT TRAIN DAYS) Weight train in evening before bed.
 
AM

5:30 In the morning when the gym is dead. When my gf asks me to go in the evening it takes an extra hour to get at equipment. Am is the best.
