im always hearing people talk about dorians routine what was it i also see people saying that they are doing a modified version of it
 
That's a great interview, never read it before. Yates is such an intelligent guy its always cool to hear what he has to say
 
I always enjoy reading what a true master of his craft has to say, aand the way the approaced thing in general.

i used his HIT methods for about six weeks, gotta say its very difficult without a spotter so i stopped, but i gained about 3-5 lbs lean and was stronger every week
 
I feel like I find many people that do just great with HIT programs, I know only a few people that have had any success with volume type programs.

Of the posts I have read on this board, I'd say that 90% of this board follows some kind of routine that would be classified as HIT.
 
He used higher volume than people realize. Sure he did one all out set, but that was after performing several "warm up" sets that were also pretty heavy.

If you watch a Markus Ruhl dvd and then watch Blood and Guts, you'll have a hard time distinguishing the training styles. Basically just a bunch of pyramid sets up to some huge weight.

But everyone thinks Ruhl did "volume" and Dorian did "H.I.T." Looks basically the same IMO.

Just my observation.

Blood and Guts

two days on one day off HIT program

-Chest and Biceps
-Legs

-Back and Rear Delts
-Shoulders and Tri's

Two working warm up sets with one all out set.
All out sets will be in the ten rep range with two reps being assisted.

I did it for awhile, but with HIT the weight keeps going up and then finally I BREAK. I guess you could modify it with more reps and less weight. But then your not doing his workout any longer.
