Whats the best competition color

I've used Jan Tana, pro tan, and dream tan, is there something better out there?

I've used Dream Tan, ProTan, and Jan Tana and I liked the color and ease of application with the Jan Tana this year. The Dream Tan rubs off too easily IMO.

I agree that the jan tana is probably the best right now. I have been steering my clients towards their product. Protan is right up there though. Just doesn't come off as easy.

Dyoderm is a nice addition if you know how to use it

My order of preference

1.) protan/dyoderm (Again only if it works for you skin tone, it won't for all) -Also plan on it being on you for a good while.)

2.) Jan Tana

3.) Protan

4.) Dream Tan

I've only tried protan and it works well for me. BUT you do need to get a base color; either from tanning beds or the sun. I do notice when competitors have a greenish tinge to their color and when asked if they started off with a base color, they always reply "no".

Okay, I am typically mistaken for african descent at every show I enter. My color is usually the darkest. Here is what I do: Protan base, 1 coat b4 bed, then shower. Then it is on. I apply protan AND jan tana one after the other for an entire bottle of protan. The jan tana really smooths over the pro tan. I go back and forth until late Friday/Saturday morning, then it is dream tan VERY VERY lightly to smooth out the color even more before PJ. Then I use PAM and spray ever so thinly, and PAT it into my skin, NOT RUB. Rubbing can make it to thick and smooth you over. CHeck out any of my pics, I am pretty dark.

Very similar to my protocol Future.

I used the Dream Tan equivalent to Pro Tan this year and put on two coats of it on Friday night, then four more in the morning. Then back stage I put on a VERY VERY light coat of dream tan #2 and sprayed Pam on and the patted some of it off with a towel to give me a matted shine so I didn't look like a big oil slick... I prefer protan, but have to agree with Island Girl. You need to have a good base tan. If the show is on sat. I'll start with my first coat fri morning and proceed to appy two more throughout the day. Shower and wash it of fri. night. and reapply another coat before bed. Wake up shower and reapply another coat and it has been perfect. Then use pam right before stage. After prejudging I shower, nap and then reapply another coat before the night show. My color has been perfect every time. I always get comments on how good it is. I believe that washing and reapplying works well. So that it doesn't bloch up. That's my process. Rob Roy
