Do you think there is much difference between the two? I know isolate is supposed to be absorbed faster, but how significant is the difference? I have always used isolate, but it is substantially more expensive, so if there isn't really much difference, I am thinking of switching to concentrate.

Not significant difference in absorption b/w the two. If you not lactose intolerant, go ahead and give it a shot. However, make sure you go with a reputable brand.

hours and hours of agony. That is the difference between isolate and concentrate for those who are intolerant of lactose. Absolute misery.

If you can handle it though, it is a lot cheaper, you're right. I will also say that Pea Protein Isolate is quite cheap and tastes good if you mix a little peanut butter with it (it has a pea-like aftertaste that is perfectly masked with peanut butter).

Thanks, guys. Unfortunately, I am one of those people who can't tolerate lactose very well, so I guess I'll have to stick with the isolate. Oh, well...

Whey concentrate gave me nothing but all kinds of GI problems. Isolate is easily absorbed with no discomfort.

I was talking with a health guru the other day about this and I explained to him that all I use is concentrate( my conversation started with him because of extreme high bp and elevated heart rate). He went on to tell me that whey concentrate is really high in cholesterol, apparently the cholesterol in it is super bad. Apparently the concentrating process produces a super bad type cholesterol. I am no expert at all concerning this, just wanted to share some recent info I received.

Btw, my blood work came back good and my EKG showed very very slight sign of arrhythmia, doc said it was normal though.
