White rice causes blood glucose to drop?

I have a buddy who is obsessed with testing his blood glucose all the time because he’s so damn paranoid about insulin resistance and Palumboism.
He has one of those body types like Dave Palumbo where he can’t take HGH alone without going flat. He has to take insulin with it to stay full.
Anyway, he said every time he eats white rice he feels like crap and goes hypo. His blood glucose drops to 70 after eating white rice.
Isn’t a high glycemic index carb like white rice supposed to elevate blood glucose?
Has anyone else noticed a drop in blood glucose after eating white rice?

What is his BG fasted in morning and before the meals?

90 i think
It drops from 90 to 70 from white rice.

Is he using insulin?

Pancreas could be releasing too much insulin.

It happens to me all the time, but on brown rice even though I mix it with my chicken breast and veggies. No slin and no gh

White rice causes a sharp increase in BG, followed by a rapid decline. The sharp increase causes the beta cells to secrete more insulin than required to help shuttle the glucose into the cells. Because of the rapid decline, you're left with a lot of circulating insulin and little glucose to be transported which facilitates a hypoglycaemic state.

Thank you
I’m texting this to my friend with the white rice issue.

Reactive hypoglycemia. Actually means hes carb resistant (bad). Guess he should keep worrying.

Same thing use to happen to me with instant oatmeal. It took almost a hr. I would crash hard

Damn. I aiways thought oatmeal was for sustained energy but i swear i burn through it super fast.

As a life spent as a diabetic, I can tell you that white rice spikes my
blood sugar compared to let's say; pasta or quinoa, red potatoes, etc

I notice my BG tests lower on blood draws after I eat as opposed to first thing in the morning. My A1C is 4.9 though and that's what really matters.

You're correct.

Any diabetes in your DNA?
Not that you have much to worry about at 4.9 :)!
