Who else loves sushi and sashimi?

best sashimi I ever had was boston....

chef told me all the fish was caught 12 hours or less....

don't know if he was giving me the shit or what.....but....

was excellent .....

I live in long Island.....so we have some pretty good sushi here also..

Never understood why people on this forum consider sushi/sashimi a cheat meal?

Its a cheat meal because of the rice, not the fish.....if you are on a strict low carb cutting diet.

I always say if sushi was half the cost I'd eat twice as much.

Lol man I was just talking about sushi. I love salmon sashimi and spicy tuna sushi

Tsukiji fish market is a 5 minute walk from my Tokyo apartment, I eat fish daily.

Hell yes, my wife and I love sushi, but a top priority for me is learning how to make it myself. Definitely something we would eat more frequently if funds allowed.

Sushi snob here lol
Love me some sushi omakase. Here in the 718. U can get 9 pieces and a hand roll for $50.
Once you get into the 212. It's easy $100-$300 per person. Biggest sushi bill with sake for two was around $800 :(

I grew up working in a 4 star Japanese restaurant at the age of 16 Looooong before sushi was so mainstream here in the US. I love it all. Even the lip numbing puffer fish [emoji226]

cause its 500 calories for a a couple of pieces...usually gets to 2000 calories for someone who doesn't eat like a girl. and probably a couple thousand mg's of sodium in a meal, teriyaki sauce on some

Sashimi Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail is about $20-25 per lbs here at a Japansese store, I chop it up and mix with sushi rice and soy sauce, gets the craving out at a fraction of the price of a nice sushi restaurant.

Best sushi I've ever had was at the very first sushi restaurant in las vegas,
Osaka Japanese Bistro, guy fieri did a show on the place, nothing comes close.

Near my house there is a sushi buffet/ $26 per person decent quality for the amount you can eat

Take care.

i used to eat large meals of sushi 2-3x daily (mostly tuna, salmon, shrimp), sometimes more, for several months, was very expensive habit but stopped mainly due to fear of mercury  , was also good to have a dollar or two for other things

I love sushi man. Depending on where you live, however, prices can vary greatly. Costco actually sells really good packs of sushi grade tuna. You can literally by the stuff by the pound and its really high quality. Sometimes I prefer to do a quick sear on the sides, but it can be eaten raw.

What product? I love Costco, but I'm not sure which product you mean.

Sushi rice is made with sugar. Sashimi is perfectly fine though.

When I had extra money I liked using these guys and getting my own sushi grade meat

Saves a ton of money compared to going out.

Started eating sushi in 1985...mmm, mmm, good...tuna and eel.......kvh

I hate cocaine but I love the smell of it

Love it. My daughter's birthday is the 14th and she requested sushi. So I am making California Rolls and then we will go get more sushi after I get off work.

It's a cheat meal cuz if I'm eating it; portion control goes out the fukin window :D
