having to train first thing because of work changes etc ie
get up 630-45 shower, ride bike 5mins to gym
hwat woiuld you suggest to eat before if im going to train so early i was thinking

1 banana
40g whey isolate
60g wms
5g creatine
5g hmb
10g glutamine
strong expresso
100mg vit c
1g sea salt
60g wms anything i could add to this thats easily digestable?

I get up and train 30-45 minutes later.
I take a pre-workout drink, no food. Just BCAA's and the related stuff that is in these types of drink.

I've found that when I take in carbs at this time it makes me gain fat.
I don't want any food.
 
I'm headed to the gym at 4:45 am. I take a free form essential amino acid drink and mix in bcaa. I'm gaining both size and strength doing this. I do however make sure to have a protein shake and fiberous food right before bed.
 
yeah il have a big carb meal the night before do you find your still gaining strength in the long term training early
 
A cup of strong coffee ( with clen ), and a protein shake. I'm in the gym by 6am. I like having the place to myself. In the afternoon, too many old people. At night, too many yahoo's.

I even work out first thing on my days off.
 
same. always go first thing. it doesn't give the day a chance to mess up my workout. nothing that went wrong on my mind and nothing that I ate making me feel sluggish.
 
ive been going to the gym first thing lately. I just drink coffee and mayb some BCAA"s in water
 
when i am doing some real dieting, i wake up and train first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, nothing but water. the only training i do like this is moderate cardio for about 30-45 mins. then later on in the afternoon i will do my heavy lifting
 
I have been training in am when i get up cause of work scheduale usually hr after my first meal
 
i drink juice with a scoop of true protein and a banana.
thats it. i dont see the time of day affecting size gains at all.
oh, also, i use caffeine and 2 sudafed, the kind behind the counter, and an aspirin. my own eca stack.
 
i was training first thing in the morning for a while- i would drink some whey protein isolate and train for about 45 minutes- then back home for a high calorie breakfast
 
First thing in the morning.

FEWER douche nozzles at 5:00 am.

I have a protein shake and 400mg caffeine. Listen to the iPod to get going, then work out. I actually dislike working out later in the day.
 
I need to eat real food before any training session. Almost doesnt matter if its eggs and toast or waffles and fruit. Ive tried on an empty stomach and just feel too weak. Of course a big protein shake and sups with whatever you decide!
 
Works for me

Get up make 2 cups coffee a jug of water and go down to the basement and get started. I do eat before I go to sleep which seems to make a difference, no facts to support but for me personally when I don't eat before bed and workout first thing I'm shot after about 20 minutes into the workout.

I prefer it to afternoon/evening workouts since i work during the day and tend to get lazy or let family time take precedence in the PM. This way I ensure I get in my workout and for me nothing starts the day off better.

as much as it sucks working out in the morning i have to do it.
wake up 6:45
50 gram protein w 1/2 cup oatmeal, then a pre workout drink
 
just recently switched from pm to am and i just have 12-24g whey isolate and 2-3 cups coffee so far no puking on squat days

im about to order some TP EAA and LBA's to add to the preworkout regiment
 
I like to spend all day eating and drinking lots of water before i head into the gym at night...if i wake up and go im not as strong
