My wife needs a kick ass digestive enzyme, any thoughts on the best one and one you can buy in bulk?

She is currently taking ENZYMEDICA Digest Spectrum but it is pricey if you take with each meal

Phil she eats tons of Pineapple with each meal but she still gets upset stomach with eating protein. I looked on TP site and thinking of trying protease as I have heard good things about it.

Every time she eats protein she gets bloating, and a gassy feeling etc....

What is she eating.........specifically? Animal protein (meat) is digested (liquefied) in your stomach by the enzyme
pepsin. Pepsin is activated by hydrochloric acid (a catalyst). Proteins and meat
entering your small intestine as undigested proteins are extremely toxic to your
system. In the intestine, undigested protein undergoes putrefaction, giving off
poisonous and products called guanidine (a constipation toxin), and histamine
(an allergen that causes allergies, hives, and more), among others. This process
is very different from the way adequately digested tract—as amino acids and
pepones, which are needed to build a strong, healthy body.......so have her chew her food a little better and drink plenty of water. Look for a product by STANDARD PROCESS called Zypan.......if it burns her stomach then she may have an ulcer. Take care

Just to clarify, it is definitely the protein causing the issue? She's eaten just protein with nothing else to confirm this?

Enzymedica Digest Gold is good, but also expensive.

One that was recommended to me is Life Extension Digestive Enzymes. I've been using it and find it a lot easier to digest some of things that previously gave me issues.

I use MRM Digest All for my enzyme. Seems to work well. Cheap too.

I'd have her do the HCl test, which I'm sure you can find mentioned many times on this forum.

Also, try apple cider vinegar with meals. That should help stimulate HCl to enhance her digestion.

I will look into the HCI test, never heard of it but thank you
