Who makes their own Kiefer??

I didn't realize how easy it was!!

They had some Kiefer grains at the dairy where I buy my raw milk. So I made my 1st batch this weekend.

I didn't know that metal effects the grains negatively . I stained my first batch through a metal strainer. Did mess up my grains permanently??

We love keifer, what are you talking about make your own? Fill me in! I thought I was cool for juicing OJ and grapefruit juice every week from the back yard.

That is how to make regular yogurt!

Kefir is made with "kefir grains" and you do not heat it. Just put the grains in the milk in a jar that can breath and let sit out at room temp.

Gogotren, the kefir grains actually grow and I should have some extra if you want some! I'll trade for some grapefruits and oranges . It's best to use raw milk that I get from a dairy out in Queen Creek!

I just started reading/learning about kefir. I purchased some from the store made by Evolve. Problem is I can't find any in the store that are made from full fat milk-all the kefir in stores by me is made from low fat pasteurized milk and added sugar.
I think the only way I'm gonna get to try real kefir is to make my own. I don't have raw milk near me so I think I'm gonna try and meek it with whole fat organic.

It just makes sense to make your own. The videos I've seen, it looks super easy. And obviously it's much cheaper than store bought. Home made will just be the cost of the milk.

renew, I`ll look into this. Been sick with stomach flu and 2 sick kids all week Cleaning puke, pee poop all week. We`re all getting better. We juiced all of our grapefruits but still have lots of oranges. If you ever wanna stop in let me know and I`ll juice you a half gallon the day of.

Hey renewlyf, i didnt realixe you were out in AZ. i get raw milk from that same dairy occasionally although its a bit of a drive for me. didnt know they had kefir grains though. i might have to try this out
