Just trying to get an idea on who is training what way...

DC

Phil Hernon style

HIT

Volume 20-25 sets per bodypart

Volume 10-15 sets per bodypart

FST 7 (different style of volume)

Other training styles ???

Just trying to get some new ideas on how much volume you should be doing, and how many times a bodypart should be trained per week ???

Right now I do high volume training because I'm dieting down. Normally when I bulk I do fst-7. However this time around I will do dc training again because I've made the best gains training that way in the past. :D
 
Volume 20-25 sets per body part, once a week, prepping now.
 
My training is mostly based on DC/HIT methods, with occasional high-volume phases thrown in to let my body recover.

I really can't say if it works better or not, I just do the type of training that my body tells me is right for me, and I for one can't do the typical bodybuilding workout where you try to hit every muscle from a million angles, it just burns me out and bores me to death. I like to go in, do one or two sets tops at maximum intensity and be done with it, straight to the point and a lot more fun. But that's me.
 
I tried a few routine boxing drills after 5 years of training only as a "powerbuilder". I thought weights are weights, cardio is cardio, and skill training is skill training.

I had become so slow that I hit about as hard as a ten-year old. This is no joke when I say this.. I had bad dreams afterwards of not being able to defend myself because I couldn't swing fast enough. I'd always miss or not hit hard enough to do any damage.

When you learn to use your muscles instead of body mechanics, and you train yourself to be really tight and to have slow, repetitive strength, you become more than worthless in a fight.

What's hilarious is that after training to instead be violently explosive for a duration of time, my joints feel better, all my lifts are up, and I have visually gained muscle mass and lost an inch of width around my waist.
 
whole body 3 x 7-8 days with 1 exercise per bodypart for few warm up sets and 2 all out sets and different exercise each workout.

So each body part gets hit about 3 x week, 3 x different exercises, total work sets x 6.


Kind a DC/HIT Cross

I just started working out hard after 16 months off and was dabbling around here and there. I figure this routine get me back into things and I will go from there in a few months.

style

I recently started training Serge Nubret style for the summer and I can't remember a time that i enjoyed working out as much as i am now. I truly love moderate weights.
 
Somewhat instinctive. Moderate volume, heavy-moderate weight and higher frequency than most. Don't know what "style" you would call it but it's what works the best for me.
 
Moderate volume 10-15 sets per bodypart. Body trained over 5 days then I pick a bodypart that needs work and train it again on day 6.
 
mainevent has me doing one where the reps steadily decrease over the weeks and the weights go up.

but boy oh boy has it killed me without fail every single week. each time i train i come back out so shattered.
 
HIT right now hoping one day to try DC. But when I do it I want to do it the right way so waiting till I can. MM
 
DC..........

Two day split, with a widow maker thrown in every once in a while for my lagging shoulders.
 
After many years training/competing in powerlifting I no longer desired doing triples, doubles, etc along with carrying my mono-ab.

I did DC for about a year and have been utilizing the services of Phil since April 1st, training and diet.

I've lost about 12 pounds of weight but my waist is down about 5 inches so I know I've lost a lot of fat and gained some muscle.

Best move I've made in a long time.
 
Hernon's diet and training...Couldn't seem to get back into a proper diet, so I went with Phil...Throw his training in the mix and you got a great combo!!
 
Training with HERNON now for 15 months.

As I keep gaining wisdom into his program I found through personal discovery how to stay progressive.

In the last two months Ive added 40lbs to my first workset on decline bench. My wife said a couple days ago, "Dont let this go to your head...but your chest is blowing up."

Btw, for all those who assume Ive added drugs, only change I made outside of the gym was a small increase in my calorie intake.
