Why did TRT clear up my acne?

I am 45 and have always had large pores and prone to cystic acne on back and sometimes face. I have been on TRT for six months. Current protocol is 160 mg test cypionate weekly, arimidex, and hcg.

My testosterone runs around 600-700, estrogen around 20. My skin has never been clearer. All acne went away and the pores have actually shrunk.

What is this is attributed to? I asked the Dr. and he just shrugged and said everyone is different.

Any ideas? It is a good think but I am really curious.

You're lucky. I been getting crazy acne on my back. Sounds like your dialed on pretty good.

I cant believe 160mg only gets you to 600-700. I take 100 mg/week and gets me to 990!!

I am a very large framed person. Not overly tall at just six feet but I have a huge frame. I wear a size 14 ring and a size 8 hat. I just have a lot of tissue and it usually takes a lot of medication to get me in the treatment zone.

honestly, i can only think of your natural testosterone/estrogen fluctuating throughout the day and you were prone to unstable levels.

I think there are a lot of factors that could contribute to this. I think that the stability of hormone levels provided by injecting test cyp on a routine and consistent basis.

You're not doing the yo yo anymore. When I would do a "cycle" my back would break out like hell. Been on self-administered TRT for 3 years. Only get the errant zit now.

I didn't have acne before starting TRT, but going on a moderate dose of test, after like 2-3 weeks all blemishes and pimples disappear.


Before I would get some pretty bad pimples, now nadda. Hormones are a weird thing.. because other guys will get cystic acne.

Same happens with me. I had to wait and extra week to take my shot of test cyp and i never get acne. By the time i went for labs on day 12 i had acne popping up. Its like if i dont take my shot on day 5 every time my system gets out of whack
