Not only does walnut oil taste way better (or less bad), it also contains way more omega-3 and omega-6 and is only slightly more expensive.

I buy mine from Kroger...pretty standard grocery store.
 
flavor :)

I use mac oil for cooking and evoo for salads.
Several of the nut oils are pretty darn tasty.
 
Possibly nut allergies? I have had no known nut allergies my whole life and a few months ago I bought a bag of walnuts and the roof of my mouth started itching like crazy after just a few. Do people with peanut allergies have to avoid food made in peanut oil?

I see most recipes do call for cooking with or topping olive.I know a lot of healthy foods that are mediteranean based use olive oil primarily.come up with a diet using walnut oil,then get a celebrity to endorse how they lost all their weight on your diet with walnut oil.It would then be on shelves in every store....
 
i just picked up some walnut oil today at the grocery store, ive been using olive oil all along but im gonna try this.
 
with all joking aside I prefer to put on food when cooled down rather than cooking with it.

EVOO is supposed to be good for HDL levels, but from what I've read Walnut Oil is even better.

But- back to the supply issue: I can't find any around me, and we don't have "Krogers" here.

That is not a bad idea at all :D

It does taste way better in protein shakes than olive oil does, try it!
