Not sure about the term muscle confusion, but I am pretty sure you can get out of a rut by using a different program to trigger different muscle fibers.
Yeah, I mean it's really just a play on words. You can use any term that you want, but it what it all boils down to is that you most likely get the best results by switching things up. If you follow Dante's DC program, part of the program is to take a break from DC training to cut down risks of injuries and to switch things up.
A good example of someone benefiting from switching things up is Shelby Starnes. He use to train DC exclusively, but the last few years he's been working with John Meadows doing Mountain dog training which is the compete opposite of DC and he made drastic improvements, especially to his back. Honestly anyone that does mountain dog training would probably grow from it just bc Johns exercises are meant to hit muscles from all different angles and lets be honest his program is just plain fucking hard if you do it how it's meant to be done.
