So been a while since I posted. The wife has been having some issues of late and turning here for advice. Just pulled her labs because of some issues and found out her TSH was 4.61.
She has been having low energy, brittle hair, dry skin, and exhausted to where she just wants to sleep all the time.
I just had her give blood again for a complete panel for Total T3 and T4, Reverse T3, TSH, Free T3 and T4. I am hoping to see more detail of the underlying problems.
To take a step back , the past 2 years she has been into crossfit and last summer she wanted to bulk and add muscle to get into her first BB contest. So she purposely tried adding weight and put on about 20 pounds.
Problem is she has gained another 15 but her calories were being cut to maintenance. Just doesn't make sense. Her motivation is shot. She is taking in same diet we had her on a year plus ago when she was 35 pounds lighter. She has put on half muscle, but these last bit are not. Its freaking her out.
She started TRT and Armour Thyroid because of low hormones last year at 40 years old in Feb of 2017. It was amazing for her energy, sex drive, motivation and overall sense of well being. Her body changed greatly as well for the good. No side effects other than some hair growth.
Other than those hormones she takes vitamins, eats healthy, but is not happy, cant loose BF , no energy at all, no motivation etc.
Anyone have any ideas? I thought of putting her on a T3 cycle, to get the BF off, but want to get her thyroid back to baseline first at least so we know what's going on. I will post her lab results this week for the thyroid.
So shouls we switch to Synthroid or add more Armour Thyroid? I just cant figure why she can't lose the BF odd when it's never been a problem. Also the low energy sucka dir her.
