Will working in a hot construction enviroment hurt my gains?

water follows salt so as long as water is taken in you will not get dehydrated, just the opposite. people always blame potassium on cramps when it could very well be sodium.

OK, now lets read my statement again, quote [WATCH] taking salt pills
sodium they can dehydrate you even more. why spend half the day at the
at the water hose becaue of salt pills instead of just drinking plain old water
or gatorade which has about everything you need.

Another thing. I feel that saltpills are a waist cause when
the body sweats it has a tenancy of reducing the amount of salt
secreted out of the body anyway
 
One of my foremans on the job almost passed out with a heat stroke. His skin was actually cool from the heat. They gave him salt tabs to use and he gave me some, so I find it hard to believe that it would work against you if a doctor ordered it.

Who was the doctor ? How much did he charge for his service? Go ahead
buy a six month supply and suckim down then. During my football days
we had guys droping like flies during our two a day pract. Come to find
out it was because of the damn saltpills coach was handing out.
they can also irritate the stomach lining. Don't take my word.go ask about
three doctors and I'll bet you get three differant answers. I pulled up
some information and you can [take it with a grain of salt if you want]

I don't know his doctor or what they prescribed him for sure. He was passing them out so I thought it was from the doctor-don't know for sure. At least he was smart enough to start giving us an afternoon break.

Yeah I was gonna say 80 here in the northeast with the humidity is probably worse than 100 in LV with low humidity. The humidity definitely kills you.The only good thing is that it should start to cool off now in September. I love the fall weather, perfect in the 60's and 70's with low humidity.

All i can tell you is that ever since adding as much salt as possible through the day i don't have any lethargy, plenty of energy for training 2 bodyparts with 20+sets each and energy for additional cardio after if i so choose. I never get cramps anymore either, you all can do want you want. just thought i could help.
 
If your trying to put on muscle or weight which I think u wanted to do by saying "gains". Without a doubt cut all cardio you spend enough energy at work doing what you do. Also as my personal advice drink more water 1.5 gallons is not enough. I live in S. Florida and we have alot of humidity and nI drink close to 2 gallons and I have a desk job. Also listen to the vets on the board if you want to gain weight u need to eat more. Good luck!!!

No big deal, if you feel salt tabs are for you all the best. Back in the
70's they were very popular. My coach would even put them in the
cooler of water. Anyway the guys taking them made more trips to
that cooler then guys who were drinking plain
old water. And also added sodium can raise the blood pressure bigtime
along with the heat. This maybe a poor example but why do they tell
you never drink ocean water.

I work outside in the heat 6 days a week in the summer and I still make it to the gym for my workouts. The heat never kills my appetite either so I guess I'm lucky. Drop the cardio, you don't need it with all of the walking up and down stairs. Drink lots of water and some diluted gatorade and you will be fine. I find that 3 solid food meals and 2 liquid meals are optimal when working in those conditions. The liquid meals can be doctored up to add more calories by adding flax oil or heavy cream. That way your cals are up but there isn't so much bulk in your stomach. It makes it easier to get in the fluids.

diet ?

i know you already talked about it but never posted your entire diet / training schedule . that would shed light on all t his . also , a picture of you would be nice . you definitely got to eat . i would limit the cardio to 30 min. on off days .
your water intake seems quiet low . you must be dehydrated and suffering from headaches all the time ?

man , i am active in south florida . outside . 3 gal. , yes 3 , is nothing special to me . post your schedule and pic !
