With all the recent talk about genetics i noticed i had more questions than ever. i get it i wont be ronnie coleman. but how far can you push what you have without risking your health?

am i doomed to never see 225? im sure i could get there with enough food and drugs, but im talking about being healthy to a degree as well.

what can a person who doesnt have the "pro" genetics do? how far can you safely push the limits your body places on you? and when do you cross the line in to doing things that are just plain dangerous?

I don't know if what works for me will work for u, but what I do is get regular blood work done thruout the year...As well as a physical every year...

I think everyone would be suprised at what their genetics given at birth to them can do...In my opinion, I think most people have decent genetics to acheive a outstanding physic...With out super sups...

Its actually more of an opened question...i dont mean what can i do...im sure phil has a plan for me for every step of the way...im talking about people in general.....i know theres no set in stone guideline for everyone to follow....each person is different.....but how far can we push what we were given to work with?

I do not know how big you will go, but I do know that with some time, the quality of the muscle gets better IMO

i think everyone is missing the point alittle bit. how would a person know when its going overbored. how would a person know when theyve reached theyre limits in terms of mass, leanness, drug use....how would a person know its going to get to be a bad thing to push further. how does a person know they're right at the edge of the breaking point?

I think that would be a hard line to draw. I've had things jump out of nowhere and bite me in the butt just when I thought everything was under control.

ive been reading through alot of these threads and people like Phil and B-boy say things like youll know if you have the genetics or not to be pro pretty soon. i agrre with that. they go on to say that if your not going to be near enough to the top to make a living at it then dont push your luck with your health. luckly for me i have Phil keeping an eye on me. but what about these 20 yr olds? how do they get a heads up when they're doing something dangerous? thats kind of where im trying to go with this. id just like the imput of others since i dont really have the answer.

Every person is different. You will only know how far you can go if you push yourself.

they say Ronnie was one of the skinniest kids going. so in bb anything is possible. eat train sleep and keep the aas doses on the low side and in the end you can only be the best that nature intend you to be.its not worth dieing young or getting sick in the process. because that surly will keep you from reaching your goals.

Do your bloodwork regularly, do ultrasound scans of your internals, generally check up on your health
If anything starts to go wrong you will know its time to stop or back down.

tkav1980 you seem to have 1001 posts and are not a kilo klub yet.

Once upon a time, even Ronnie Coleman didn't look like Ronnie Coleman...

I can see your point...My line of reasoning was that if u keep blood work up and physical (yearly), then u would have somewhat of a clue as to what your body is going thru...U could then use the bloodwork as an indicator if something was going astray...thereby making adjustments accordingly...

Exactly what I was going to comment on. That the only way to know for sure.
If you blood pressure is consistently high, cholesterol is coming back high, or bad LDL/HDL ratio, RBC to high, liver enzymes high, PSA after blood work you would have to ease down. If you getting injured from pushing yourself you would have to ease up.

i didnt read the thread in whole, but i just wanted to say the answer to your question is you'll never know unless you try.

look guys im not trying to debate weather or not ill ever be Mr. O. im pretty sure thats not in the cards for me. what im trying to accomplish with this thread is get a concise soruce of information, or at least educated opinions, about when it becomes TOO MUCH and no longer as safe hobby. im really hoping some vets would chime in here. Phil has had a few posts on other threads that make you go WTF? it really gets you thinking. im all for the dont ever stop trying thing, but theres a difference between trying your best and plain old being wreckless. thats the line im trying to draw. when is it giving 100% and when is it doing something stupid and dangerous? personally ill draw the line when my health is in jepordy(sp?).

OXpower and Dragonfly Thank you. Those are the answers im looking for. i dont think theres too many people on this board not going the extra mile to be great. but theres always the newbie with the 2 gram a week cycle and messed up diet asking for dosing advice on syntherol after putting a whole 2 months in the gym. this is stuff people need to know. we all abuse our bodies to an extent. but that abuse does not have to be as harmful towards our long term health as it could be.
