World's Strongest Man 2009

I plan on having a feast and party with friends when it is finally broadcasted late this year.

First year that ALL of the top guys have entered. Big Z has won tons of IFSA shows and is undoubtedly one of the absolute strongest. Mariusz being a 5-time winner is a personal favorite but Poundstone has really become a beast in the past year. Was so close last year and personally, I think LBStone takes it.

Very cool that PartyPoker is this year's sponsor and I hope the prize money reflects that. Has the prize money been announced?

Now I haven't seen many vids or read much about Poundstone. But wasn't he getting pretty arrogant a while back? I mean 4th place is still quite an accomplishment. But I thought I heard somewhere that he was saying he IS the worlds strongest man... I could be wrong so pardon me if this is incorrect. But it sounds like he was sort of put in his place it is in fact what he said... In any case, I'm glad to see an American in the top 5.

He was in Waterbury, CT last sunday at a bike show and the booth said Meet the World's Strongest Man, he wasn't bragging though or acting arrogant at all, he was pretty humble and mellow actually, I spoke to him briefly and took a few pics, here's one.

He lives a couple towns away from me and I know a guy who trains with him. He spreads all these rumors in his town about how he is the world's strongest man.

I'm not a big fan of someone who legit lies like that.

he came in 2nd last year and only lost it all on the final stone when it slipped out of his hands. the guy who "trains" with him would be the one telling lies. he's not a braggart at all and why would someone lie about something that easily could be looked up online?
