Shaw won his group easily to make the finals.
A bit shocked to see Novikov not make it (last years winner).

Shaw, T. Stoltman, JF Caron, Bobby Thompson, some of my favorites for the Podium.
But Ive been very wrong so far thinking Novikov was going to make it.

Haven't followed too much the last few years but I do like those Stoltman brothers. I check out their YouTube every so often.

In the first days there were 2 or 3 injuries that forced the athletes to retire. Talk about how extreme this sport is.

I love watching strength competitions! So entertaining and those guys are animals! They train and are focused on one thing! So much more complicated (IMO) than bodybuilding. I have some goals/PR’s that I want to break sometime. Hate getting psyched out by the Iron . So Rad!

A bit off topic, but there’s a pretty awesome amateur strongman competition happening near me at the end of July that I’m competing in, so I’ve been watching this to get the juices flowing. Super fun stuff to watch, these guys are beasts. Amazing what a conditioned human body can do.

They have a racing channel and other channels I think are devoted to a narrow topic. I wish someone would try to come out with a channel for weightlifting/powerlifting/strongman/bodybuilding etc. A channel devoted entirely to those things. I guess it would probably die off pretty fast with not enough paid subscriptions. They could have on all sort of fighting too like MMA and boxing. We have a fighting channel here that I watch off and on and enjoy.

Last day. I could see Shaw winning the DL, or at least beating Tom in DL.
Tom of course will smoke Atlas Stones. Curious how they compare in Log-Lift.
I see Luke or maybe B. Thompson taking that, but unsure where Tom or Shaw will end up on Log.

I was actually at a strongman event once and got to help out quite a bit…some of the events even on the lowest setting where too tall for me..and 5’10”
