I would always wrap my knees where the whole kneecap is covered with maybe about 1" below the knee cap and about 3-4" above the kneecap. I also would just wrap very tight and straight across. Then I saw this

PJ Braun Trains Legs 3 Weeks From the 2009 NPC Eastern USA!

He only wraps like half his kneecap and goes way up on his quad. And whats it mean when they say he wraps them "up and in" Anyone got any better explainations or video's on this?

I used this video to learn a lot of different techniques.
YouTube - APT Knee Wrap Tutorial Technique

Have you used the TK knee bands?

I personally prefer these to wraps..

Thats a great video. It doesnt say whats best though for bodybuilding. Ive been doing the 1st one it showed and knees have still be sore lately so im not sure whats the best one for bodybuilding. I wonder if PJ's style where it pulls the kneecap upward is best?

why in the hell would you do that? patellar tendon stress anyone?

I've been using the "cross" wrap for many years. There were some nationally ranked powerlifters at the gym I worked at & they taught me that technique.
I'm going to give the sub-X wrap a try on Friday.
Thanks Hawk for posting that video.

pjs wraps his legs this way for quad tendon issues
less on assistance more on protection

his knees prolly dont bother him as much as the quad and tendons do

Wrapping for knee pain.

When squatting and leg pressing, I get a lot of pain in the patellar tendon, right below my kneecap. I typically use wraps on my heaviest sets. Can anybody tell me the best way to wrap my knees to alleviate some of this stress?

I also only have knee pain. Never quad pain. Usually the next day after very heavy squats or leg press my knees feel bruised and sore. I dont want to be limping at 40yrs old so i'd rather wrap properly. Im gonna try the x wrap and see if that helps.

For me I use izner wraps. I wrap around the knee 1/4" above the cap and then 2'' below the cap. I have osgood schlatter so I have to rap that way. My problem is the patella tendon and also where it meets at the tibia. So I focus on that. I would say I wrap my knee's like Trey Brewer.
