As I get older, I feel it more and more in my joints. First it was the elbows, now beginning to feel it in the knees. I'm looking into some supports and would love some feedback from guys with the same problem on what has worked best for you.

Also, I should mention that I already take a multivitamin, omega-3s and omega-6s, and a supplement with Glucosamine (2000mg), MSM (2000mg), Chondroitin (500mg), and Boron (3 mg) twice daily.

As far as I can tell, wraps give more support, but they're harder to put on, they're not re-usable, and they're more conspicuous (I don't look like a powerlifter, so I don't want to seem like one of those guys who thinks he's bigger and stronger than he really is)

On the other hand, compression sleeves seem easy to take on and off, are washable and re-usable, but give less support.

Thanks

What do you mean by wraps are not reusable? As in throw them away, or as put them on, take them off, put them back on???

I use knee sleeves, medium thickness. I keep them on for leg pressing type movements, then slide them down for extension type movements.

I stick with wraps only on heavy sets
I feel sleeves reduce blood flow
Deca for joints lol

Wraps are for heavy sets say over 405 on squats but the sleeves help if your area that is tight or injured.
I use sleeves to keep area warm and to help with a injured area.

Yeah, reusable wasn't poor word choice. I meant that you can't reuse them without having to to re-wrap each time, unlike a sleeve, which you can just slide on and off.

It sounds like sleeves are probably the better option for me.

Thanks guys.

I agree with GS. I would go with the sleeve for the mild/moderate additional joint support and warmth. I only used wraps when going heavy in power lifts and you'll want to take those off after the set is done. To leave them on would be very uncomfortable.

sleeves for mild joint pain, used the tk bands before. loved them. especially if u dont want to spend the 100 bucks on the rehbands

was going to get another set of TK bands (they always rip on me). Are Rehbands better? maybe elaborate a bit?

I have pretty sensitive elbows (winny doesn't help) so I use SBD knee and elbow wraps. They, along with my inzer belt, are BY FAR the best gym investments I've ever made.

SBD sleeves are thicker and more supportive than any other sleeve (rehband, TK, Inzer), offer more coverage cause they're longer, and are higher quality. They are not cheap however, but they hold up EXTREMELY well.

I keep my elbow sleeves on all workout for chest/shoulder/tri and my knee sleeves on for the entire workout for legs. Great support and warmth without restricting blood flow. I wrap my inzer wraps OVER my SBD knee sleeves when squatting 4 or 5 plates because the wraps don't offer as much rebound as good wraps of course.

strongly considering purchasing. i feel like TK Knee bands restricted blood a bit. you saying these dont? better than rehbands?

Yep no comparison TP4U. They're noticeably thicker, they are considerably longer than the rehbands and they're stitched way better too. Even the logo doesn't rub off like the rebhands.

Your bloodflow restriction really has to do with your sizing but I'm about 230 10% at 6' with strong quads/hams and the XL size fits perfectly. Warmth, compression and a little bit of rebound without numbing of your feet from over-restriction.

Andersonpowerlifting is also very good with customer service. If you buy the wrong size, ship it back and they'll send you another pair no problem.

done deal.. lets see how this goes

Ive been using a Rehband sleeve for an elbow thats been flaring up and its been a great help while training

I been using the 7mm rehband 7051 knee sleeve for my knee injury Im currently dealing with when wearing it feels like nothing is wrong, good support from these sleeve. In time I will purchase another for the other knee for added support when doing heavy movements on leg day, if using extreme weight wraps over top the sleeve, so in my opinion use both!

I haven't decided to pull the trigger on some decent knee sleeves, I just use the mcdavid ones from sports authority. I wear them jus to keep my knees warm. When squatting 405 or more I use my inzer wraps over the knee sleeves.

Another vote for rehbands.. I picked some up a few months ago becuase my knees started bothering me during squats. Not recommended to remedy a prior injury or to help magially lift heavier, but really just helps warm up the knees and gives a little more comfort

My forearms get sore when doing heavy straight curls. I bought these "Dr cool" wraps that can be as tight as you want and they really help
