WTF With Kratom?

Never tried it. Nothing against it, just never did. A friend of mine got married about 4 years back or so. Her husband was supposedly rehabbing from a Kratom addiction and was clean before the wedding. Turns out he was still using it and is now supposedly clean and filed for divorce because "he was high most of the time" as far as his decisions. My friend is a legit good human, very sweet girl. Does that shit really fuck people uo that bad and cause that many problems?

Some people will say no, but yes. It’s not harmless stuff.

A good friend of mine was on for 2-3 years straight. When he went off, it took him a week before he could sleep and function normally. The first 2 weeks were 9/10 bad.

Another guy online had to go to legit rehab, and is on one of the replacement opiates.

The 7-OH stuff is the strongest/worst. Even the normal mitragynine is no joke.

Some people have issues with it. Most don't.
Alcohol and many other substances are pretty much the same.
Depends on the person and their personality. And why they are taking it. How much and how often.
I have taken it more days then not for over 8+ years. On days i don't i don't miss it. My gram or so won't seem like much to many people. But that is enough for me.
When i drink alcohol i rarely have more then 1. Wanting to get wasted went away in my 20's.
For those that want to escape from some part of life they should be careful of what is they do.

I’ve never had issues with it but I only take a very small amount. I’ll go off for multiple weeks and don’t notice it…matter of fact not even sure why I take it 🤣

If you’re ingesting tons of it, it can kind of make you feel dissociated. Any time I’ve ever taken too much I feel almost sick. No thanks.

I used it for 5 years. Like any addiction it started with like 3 grams and by the end a kilo would last me about two weeks.

I came off in 2020 and had two real bad days that were like tired and aches like the flu with some mental fog and irritation. Withing a week I was fine but slightly lower physical output and energy levels. The crazy part is that I didnt quit at least a year earlier because I had read about withdrawals and was afraid. But it wasn't shit. I know everyone is differnt but the hardest part for me was lowering work and training capacity because of energy and pain killing capabilities of Kratom.

Don't do kratom

This right here. 7 OH is the devil.

Yes, it can be and a lot of people don't know it can be is the dangerous thing about it. My gym even sells energy drinks with it in it.

I am sorry for your friend that it came to this. I mean no disrespect my friend but being a Kratom addict displays his character and morality.

I had a physical addiction to kratom. So have many of my friends. It's not great. But it's definitely nothing like a heroin addiction etc. If you "can't quit" kratom, I'm sorry - you're a bitch.

But it's like anything else. Some people get addicted to kratom, nicotine, cheeseburgers, porn, whatever. Only difference is if used long enough, kratom DOES form a physical addiction, as in - you get shakes, sweaty, etc. if you don't have it.

Literally all it takes is not driving to the store to buy kratom, and then going through some mild withdrawals and bad sleep for a few days. I've gone through it. Many friends have gone through it. If this dude's wife asked him to quit or she'd leave, dude definitely wanted her gone lmfao.

Makes you wonder if it’s a strength thing. Meaning, depending on where you get it, it could be really strong or more mild.

I tried Chris Bell’s brand a long time ago. Felt like a million bucks on it, ran it during a prep for 8-10 weeks. When I came off, I definitely felt withdrawal for about 3 weeks.

Some of the gas station stuff is the Wild West. My friend got to that point, kept graduating up.

I was addicted to nicotine gum...finally quit it...but that shit was hard. I was chewing about a box over 3 days. One day got disgusted with myself...took all my boxes out of my trunk in the woods and pissed on them walked back to my car haven't touched it since. Now only if I could dump the energy drinks

Nicotine is the one thing I'm hooked on now. I vape. And it's such a bad habit. I'll be the first to admit I'm being a bitch by not wanting to quit. It's a terrible habit, but I enjoy the nicotine, even though I know it's bad for me and it looks super lame to hit a vape.

Keep in mind, quitting things that are socially acceptable and readily available are sometimes harder to quit. Many years ago I was hooked on meth and got so disgusted with myself I quit cold turkey. Part of me didn’t want to continue risking being at house that was being watched or had the potential to be raided. I hated driving with it. I hated the people that came along with the lifestyle.
Being addicted to alcohol, food, kratom, etc. is different. It’s available at almost every gas station and nobody calls you a disgusting addict when you buy a case of beer and cake for dinner.
As for the guy who got married while addicted to kratom, I’m sorry but he’s just an ass. Kratom didn’t make him lie. Getting married is your biggest commitment in life and he didn’t respect her or the “institution” of marriage. I’m not trying to be an asshole and shit talk your friend, but I think if you process what I wrote, you will agree with me.

I'll be honest...I wasn't tucking it just chewing it like regular gum...probably didn't get any nicotine...as odd as it sounds..I just liked the flavor. One time a dude from work gave me a nicotine pouch...4 minutes I got rid of it thought i was gonna die felt so sick. Years ago like 2004 tried a patch..good god felt so sick I ripped it off. So I probably was just addicted to the gum thinking back lol. Now I chew regular gum all day. I need to kick that too...im a freaking gum addict...it makes me feel bloated all day if I can't limit it somewhat
