use to calculate a persons activity level? And would you use 2.0 for a serious BB or how much more if there on gear???

Could you give an example for cal intake for someone to maintain mass while off...say:

240 lbs @ 10%
5'11"

I came across this, does this sound about right for general population?(depending on body type of course)

1)If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2
2)If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375
3)If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55
4)If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725
5)If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9

the formula I was using was

BMR = 66 + ( 6.23 x weight in pounds ) + ( 12.7 x height in inches ) - ( 6.8 x age in year )


pretty close to their first one. I guess I was curious as to how detailed one should be concerning activity levels with body types. I'm a detailed one huh?
 
This is really the key here so don't feel bad for trying to figure it out!

Your caloric intake is going to be XXX above your RMR based on activity level for that day (this is my interpretation). Thats why I like to vary my diet on workout days versus rest days.
 
Using your link I came up with (I like how it averages all 5 methods):

Your Average RMR is 2471 Calories per day.

So according to the activity levels I posted in my first post, I calculated it looking like this

(2471)(1.9) = 4694.9 cals a day

I used 1.9 since I use a HIT lifting style.

I'm wondering now how much gear influences the numbers too and if what I'm doing is correct. I'm usually around 4500 - 5000 cals a day anyways...I love food. :)
 
Interesting point about rest days, I usually end up taken in probably a bit more since I have that extra 1.5 hours in there to eat (time i'd normally be lifting)


I should really watch that lol
