Well i was beginning to wonder if i was on a sirius website..LOL.. it is nice to read why XM is so good...i was unaware of the shallow playing list of sirius and how deep XM goes into a muscians history and playlist...old and new stuff...i will continue to read and learn but as it stands sirius sounds real good too me but i do appriciate the XM input and if anyone has more of that kind of feedback to share with us and your experiences with either one, good or bad, please get back to us.L.G. said:Ok fellas, Ive been a member of this board going on a year now and for the most part enjoy taking in all the information that all you knowledgeable guys have to impart. I don't really post, BUT I had to on this one, why, because I work for XM Radio AND I program the music on one of the channels. This by no means is a marketing/promotion ploy for XM, but it is in fact an honest synopsis from someone who's been in the radio business for 15 years now. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions and is free to choose the service they wish. For those that may have read this post not having being able to sample each service (which by the way both companies offer 3 day trials on their websites) you might think that the only choice is Sirius. My observation and comparison between the two services is this (after which the choice will be up to you):
If you like the repetitve nausea of FM radio WITHOUT the commercials, then Sirius is for you!
If you appreciate music and I mean to the extent that you want to hear some cuts off of your favorite artist's new album, or deep tracks from some of your favorite artists that you may have never heard before, hell if you just want a deeper playlist of songs, than XM is for you. You will not hear the same songs recylced every hour and thirty minutes to cater to the lowest common denominator, trying to make each quarter hour count so that listeners will write your station down in a diary to acheive top ratings.
YES, Sirius has Stern, the NFL, Martha Stewart, Nascar (in 2006). All that is good if you want the service JUST for that. Radio for most of us is about the music. There are many reports, survey's, etc so on that rate XM far superior in it's music programming. (And YES Vanilla-Gorilla, ALL the radio's display title and artist. You should have called Cadillac and asked them how to have your radio display it)
Like I said, the choice is ultimately up to everyone that reads this. Just be your own judge and take the test drive between both services before you take the plunge! Now I can get back to the world of bodybuilding! I hate talking about work at home

I am leaning towards a simple player since i have a kick ass sound system in my SUV and do not want to tinker around with having it pulled out..i am going to have it mounted next to the inner passenger wall then i have the best of both worlds with less tug and pull and cut and splice...Big Ed said:how big of one do you need? Single or Double din? Also would you want to be able to play dvd? The one i have is touch screen plays dvd all that and picked it up for around 900$ off ebay. By now im sure it is less.
