my generation had Yates. today's generation has Piana. bodybuilding is dead.

Yates was on top while I was in college and will always have a special place in my weightlifting life.

The 90's with Yates were the best I've encountered...not just BB, but also all the magazine and board memories from back in those days

Yates trained at Golds near Waikiki when he was in town for a guest pose session before his last couple Olympias. Photo's don't do him justice he was the biggest driest dude and he was still weeks out from competing. His cardio was riding the stationary bike and he dwarfed the poor bike thought it would fall apart.

Also, no disrespect to Haney, he trained at Power Pit near Pearl Harbor in his later Olympia years, and he was tiny compared to later Yates. Yates must have gained 40-50 lbs between his first olympia to his last.
