At my age I'm real careful with hot sauce. It comes back out as hot as it went down. Frank's is about as much heat as I want these days.

Louisiana, Texas Pete, Franks are my faves they have a vinegar taste. I also like Tabasco and one at my local BBQ joint I don’t remember the name but goes great with the barbecue. YUMMO!

Sriracha is clearly the best commercial hot sauce on the market.


When I really want to kick it up a notch, I will sprinkle some ghost pepper, trinidad scorpion, and/or carolina reaper on there, too.

I probably have 15-20 bottles of hot sauce in my kitchen at any given time. And for the last 20 years, my go-to is sriracha (Huy Fong only). Particularly great on rice and beans.

For chili, I prefer Frank's Red Hot or a similar cayenne-based sauce throughout the chili, and then I'll generally add some insanely hot sauce on top. And pay for it later...

Tabasco used to make a mango habanero sauce that was great but haven’t seen it in awhile. Texas pete extra hot is not bad. If looking for something with more heat and good flavor yo can buy Quaker steaks atomic sauce in stores. I also have a bunch of extracts I use for pure heat you can cook with.

Tabasco original is hard to beat. It can be too strong/flavorful for some dishes that need it more spread around I use Crystal or Louisiana.

Used to have some stuff I think I got at a local shop in the TN mountains called Dave's insanity sauce. WHEW! STRONG! You had to be extremely careful with this stuff. 1-3 drops and a whole pot of Rotel cheese would turn really spicy. Loved it.

I like siracha as well. I tend to use more vinegar based ones on eggs and breakfast foods.
