what was your first contest diet like...Here is mine....

I was 17 years old, I had only trained for 10 months and a few guys in the gym told me I should compete...But I told them I didnt know anything about dieting, so one of the guys game me this diet...I followed it for a month and lost 27 pounds and competed at 166lbs...

meal 1
small bowl corn flakes with skim milk

meal 2
1 can tuna with a few slices of lettuce

meal 3
4-5oz. chicken breast and a small potatoe or handful of rice...


that was it..It was a killler diet...no protein powder, no aminos, creatine, fat burners nothing else was used...I got lean, but was super flat (i didnt know it at the time though)....I won my class and overall I was teen Iowa cup champion...

I'll try to find some pics I was 17 years old and it was 1992...
 
If I remember right, I pretty much thought fat grams was the enemy, my how I have changed! How far my knowledge has come.

Meal 1: Big Bowl of non-fat cereal with skim milk, maybe some toast

Meal 2: Small Whole Grain Bagel with 98% deli meat and non-fat cheese slices

Meal 3: Non-fat Cottage Cheese with an apple

Meal 4: 2 Pre-packaged chicken breast with a potato and 1 slice of fat-free cheese melted on it

Meal 5: Whole grain bagel with jelly and a big glass of skim milk

I guess I liked my bread:D

It was when I was 18 years old and competed in my first show. I got second as a lightweight, then off to college!
 
My first diet I basically ate nothing but broccoli and london broil. Some guy at the gym gave it to me. I would do tuna usually once a day. I was totally natural and weighed in at 167lbs and placed 4th in the Novice Middleweights. Non tested show.

some jerk named chris genkinger did my first diet.

i only placed third in the novice and 5th in the open (11 competitors) and its all his fault.....

I read this and thought 4th wasen't so bad after loseing muscle and getting fatter, then I saw there was only 4 people...Got a good laugh.
 
I was 20 yrs old, thought I knew it all. Truth is, I knew nothing. I cant remember meal for meal, but it was something like this

meal 1- 7 egg white, 1 whole egg
1 yogurt


meal 2- protien shake in water

meal 3- yogurt, protien shake

meal 4- tuna fish, oatmeal

Train

meal 5- protien shake

meal 6- tuna fish, salad


trained all natural, however overtrained really bad. I was in the gym 2-3 hours a night and got really flat. I came in at 193 lbs down from 225 lbs. I placed 7th out of 8th in novice heavyweights, but much of it was due to my improper posing. My only training for that show was the Pumping Iron video and my Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding, which was to blame for my overtraining

I can't believe you guys can remember what you ate! I can remember some general stuff (misery) but I'd have to look back at my journal. My memory sucks!

Actully you did your diet I just helped you out with some tips...It was more you than me bro
 
1- 4 egg whites, 1 whole egg, 1/2 cup oats
2- 2 scoops whey, 1/2 cup oats, some peaches
3,4,5- 200 gr can of tuna
6- 2 scoops whey

followed that for around 16 weeks... came in at a huge and shredded 165 lbs! lol! I looked aweful and felt aweful all that time... went down from around 200 lbs totally fat, to 165 lbs not so fat. got 4th out of 8 in that contest. good times :D

cardio, supps, moral support. i was glad i had you in my corner.
 
My first diet/show..i was 25% bf..only started training consistently when i started dieting which was only 4 months before the show..i hired a pro ND..and it didnt kill my wallet..needless to say..i came in about 6% bf..great muscle mass..didnt use fat burners or AAS..it was a tested show..and placed 2nd out of 14 against seasoned girls..Thanks mom and dad for the genetics and TG for the diet..
 
For my first show, I followed John Parillo's diet. 3500 kcals daily with half of that coming from MCT. Spent more time on the can and in the gym than anything else , but did manage to walk away with third out of eight in the light wgt. class
 
Oh man...

Remember very clearly 1997. 16 week diet my last semester of college while I was student teaching.
Meal 1: 1 MRP + 1/2 cup oatmeal
Meal 2: 9 oz chicken plain + 1 cup broccoli
Meal 3: 9 oz chicken plain + 1 cup broccoli
Meal 4: 9 oz chicken plain + 1 cup broccoli
TRAIN
Meal 5: 1 MRP + 1/2 cup oatmeal
Meal 6: 9 oz chicken plain + 1 cup broccoli

Did 45 min cardio every morning 4:00 a.m. outside (which was tough in Jan Feb in Rochester) with the Rocky 4 soundtrack blasting in my portable cassette player. Cheated once on a Saturday at the 8 week mark and ate 46of the best tasting chicken wings I have ever had.....LOL! I won the Mr. Buffalo (186 lbs) and took 2nd in the Lightheavies at the Mr. Rochester & New Your State Bodybuilding Championships the following week at 181 lbs.

Chris, I tell you but that was 23 years ago. Hell, I am getting older and my memory is going, how can I remember that long ago?:D
