In advance, my deepest apologies to all my PM friends from England, and to a lesser extent to those from Brazil who for the most part hate him with a passion. Finally to you guys from the US usually not much into soccer. ;)

But each time I watch this masterpiece from Diego Maradona, it never fails to send shivers down my spine... and I'm far from what you could call a soccer fan, really far... but THIS is just superb. :)

When Liverpool were 3-0 down in the champions league final to AC Milan. They came back to make it 3-3 and then won on penalities. Amazing moment. I heard a story that some guy bet £250,000 at half time for AC Milan to win because it was 250/1 so he would have been annoyed :D

Phidias English fans don't mind that goal as it was amazing plus England are crap so we are used to losing anyway :D

My hawks were supposed to be a speed bump for the saints that playoffs but money lynch unleashed the beastquake. The td legitimately registered as seismic activity as the td was scored because the fans were so loud. Not many plays can lay claim to that

1996 - Warren Morris hits his FIRST homerun of the season to win the Collge World Series for LSU!!

Phid - we didn't play much soccer down here in the swamp but THAT was awesome.
Actually all of the clips were great.
I played football, baseball, basketball as a kid so my favorite sport changed with the season. I was fortunate to be pretty good and to have parents that put up with the constant travel and now that I am older I realize that shit actually cost money!

I think sports are critical to growth as a person. That's not to say that spastic kids can't be successful good people (just jokes) - I just think sports teaches a kids about life and working with others ( even picking up the slack if the unathletic ones :D)

Seems like kids these days have too much stuff to do inside. When I was a kid we hit the door shortly after waking up and sucking down some Cheerios - and didn't come home until night - I guess sometimes for lunch. We played ball or rode bikes HOURS daily.
I have a nephew that looks like a friggin vampire - the kid is NEVER in direct sunlight or out of the AC for more than a second. Throw a ball to him and he jumps out the way???

I'm gonna go with the following, but there are many more:

1) Dale Earnhardt winning the Daytona 500.
2) Dale Earnhardt's last race at Daytona that took his life.
3) Dale Earnhardt when he ran into a pigeon on the last lap many years prior that ruined his chance to win the Daytona 500.
4) Dale Earnhardt's last win at Talladega in 2000.

5) Magic Johnson announcing his status of having AIDS.

6) Tyson losing to Buster Douglas.

7) The pats coming back to win the Superbowl this year.

2004 Red Sox coming back from a 3 game deficit to the Yankees. Absolutely incredible.

ESPN made an awesome 30 for 30 called "Four Days in October" about it and it STILL gives me goosebumps after watching it over and over again.

Also when David Ortiz had the speech after the Boston Marathon Bombings... "This is our fuckin' city". I have chills just writing this!!

After he got pooped for PEDs and he couldn't participate at the 1994 World Cup I sat a few rows away from him at a World Cup game at the Pasadena rose bowl in California. I grew up playing soccer, was in the Olympic development program from 7th grade until my final years of high school but got into drugs and girls and pissed away everything. No regrets though. I only played because I was good at, got burnt out and just wanted to have a childhood. My dads side of the family is from Scotland (Glasgow) so I grew up watching soccer mainly the celtics.

We went to a game when I visited Scotland and the crowd was separated based on religion lol. Catholics on one side and protestants on the other. When we went to buy tickets they didn't ask what team we were supporting but asked what religion we were ha. The had a monster fence separating both sides. People walking around selling meat pies haha. People go fucken nuts for soccer in just about every place but the USA. I don't see that changing because all of our best athletes get sucked into American Football here. I couldn't imagine if some of these freaks played soccer.

Nice. I will call it soccer so people on here don't confuse me :D Soccer doesn't really work like that in regards to freaks but obviously it helps. I just mean whereas in football the biggest, strongest and fastest etc... aka genetics freaks shine. In soccer it's much more technical but obviously the genetic freaks still shine. But most of the best players to ever live were not the biggest or fastest or anything of that nature.

So you went to see Celtics Vs Rangers... good stuff. Yes it's divided by religion which is a shame but thankfully these days it's usually harmless banter and you don't have any serious issues like a post like that might seem.

I remember Maradona getting banned when I was a kid. It was for cocaine and ephedrine in 94. He used to party back then so not your typical PED usage.

Did you ever visit Edinburgh? I might go there for a weekend sometime but there are so many places I want to visit over the next few years.

I Know what you are saying about size and football. We have plenty of skilled position players (deon sanders, hershall walker, Richard sherman etc comes to mind) who I think could play any sport. Not all football players are giant oafs. All my coaches growing up played pro soccer here in the states and they still needed a 2nd job to get by. It's a little different now but players here do not make nearly as much money as players from other countries. Even though soccer has really been embraced at the youth and college level here...American soccer is not popular. Most my friends who are die hard soccer fans Enjoy watching all the Euro teams and could care less about American soccer.

Edinburgh was so awesome. I was young so I know I would have a much different perspective now if I went, but I really enjoyed it. We went to the Endinburgh Military Tattoo (not what you think) and Endirbugh Castle was beautiful. I love history so for me it was a very memorable trip. I could talk and read about history all day.... and in Europe there is plenty of history.
