I’m trying to put together a solid comprehensive panel that won’t break the bank… what are the panels y’all normally test for?

For reference Marek Health’s $450 Comp Panel include all these which I can’t seem to beat (at least price wise):

Total Test (LC/MS)
Free Test (Equilibrium Ultrafiltration)
Estradiol, Ultra sensitive (LC/MS)
SHBG, PSA, & DHEA-S
Progesterone & Prolactin & Cortisol
LH & FSH
TSH, Free T3 & T4
IGF-1
ApoB
Total Cholesterol
HDL/LDL & Ratio
VLDL
Triglycerides & Lipoprotein(a)
CBC w/ Diff & CMP
Blood glucose
Fasting Insulin
HbA1c
AST/ALT
BUN
Bilirubin
GGT
Creatinine w/ eGFR
Vitamin D
Iron
Transferrin Saturation / Iron Saturation
TIBC
UIBC
Ferritin
hsCRP
Complete Urinalysis

What are the lab panels you normally opt for and who do you prefer to go through privatemd? Quest, Labcorp..
(And no I’m not promoting)

This is a good start to cover basics and can add on additional tests from here

That’s actually a pretty solid panel for that price. Hormones and thyroid are usually where it gets pricey. The only thing I would add to this that I monitor regularly is homocysteine.

I think you’re overcomplicating it - CBC and metabolic panel include over 50% of what you listed individually.

I agree, Marek’s panel is fairly excessive for routine bloodwork. But I like the idea of a comprehensive evaluation at least once a year. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I know places have bundles/panels that are tun as a package deal. Many times those are a pretty good price. But you can piece together a panel of your own on Ulta Labs for pretty cheap. They are always running specials and you can usually get a code for 15-20% off if you do some digging.

My last panel was total and free test, ultra sensitive e2, cbc, cmp, lipids, apo b, a1c, and psa for like $120. Its not the most thorough, but I feel a good place to start for most people and you can build on to it some of the other things you see in other panels.

I am heading back to the USA next week. This is what I booked.

Question - I am taking HGH, should I stop the shots and determine what my baseline is? Or would you continue the shots to see the impact on GH markers?

Is the E2 sensitive?
Are those thyroid tests even relevant? I thought free t3/t4 is what we all went by?

I have another rec for sensitive estrogen, was not in the bundle.

Unsure on the thryoid tests. I thought totals were 'ok'.
