What brand do you use? Do you take it in the AM?

I have had sever anxiety for quite sometime, but I started using CBD Oil 1500mg by a company called cbdmd

I take one full dropper sometimes two if I need it but it has really put me in a very mellow mood. My anxiety levels have plummeted.

This brand has worked for me. I don't know how you would react to it but for me I am satisfied.

indica/cbd for the win

I have struggled with anxiety most my life. Not into changing my brain chemsitry with things like lexapro and etc. so i decided to go the indica cbd vape route. works very well.

I could write a book on anti anxiety supps/meds.

Here are some effective items to look into.

Lemon balm and valerian root - both can be fairly sedating
Theanine - great for day time use
Picamilon (believe you need to order outside of US)
Phenibut - dose dependent response, i only take occasionally before bed
Rescue remedy - great stuff, def check it out. I like the dropper bottle better than pastiles
Baclofen - rx that some have found very effective, can find online
Cbd - get a quality tested product, a lot of bunk out there
I have heard a small amount of thc is needed to help deliver the cbd, i dont know if that is true but cbd with a bit of thc seems more effective.
Glycine - a very effective anxiety supplement
Benzos - effective but addictive
Celexa - understand if you dont want to take an ssri, this is an older one with good efficacy

Ive taken most anxiety meds, feel free to ask questions, ill do my best to answer.

It’s a muscle relaxer so yes it can be used for muscle spasms. Fun fact, it can also be used for excessive hiccups.
 
CBD oil has worked great helping my wife with her anxiety..

Hands down the best for GAD. Add it to the list.

Gabapentin (aka; Neurontin . . . off label usage is treating anxiety),
hands down the best I have ever used, and I too, like Brickshthouse79,
could write a book on anti-anxiety meds. (Xanax is still the best, the
go to for break-through anxiety, but use infrequently.)

Gabapentin is taken orally 3X per day. 900mg, 3X per day seems to
be the beginnings of a therapeutic dosage. Zero side effects, not habit
forming, no tolerance build-up and absolute magic for GAD. And very
safe when compared to all the other crap doctors will try (well meaning)
to cram down your throat.

Any supplements, vitamins, minerals, potions, lotions are worse than
worthless in my opinion and I have tried literally everything, and
some things you have never heard of. You want ‘something’ that really
works, all the time, every time, get a doc to write a script. My opinion.

Notwithstanding (last paragraph) . . . I am happy to read that CDB oil
has helped many (not me). But those that think that it does not effect
brain chemistry, therefore safe, do not believe all you read from the
‘hemp folks’. It does affect brain chemistry (not saying in a bad way)
and to believe otherwise is foolish in my opinion.
 
Yes cbd effects the brain.. but in a positive way most definitely... Gabapentin also does but in a negative way by giving people dementia, permanent short term memory loss
 
A simple addition of niacin can help with anxiety.

I had to use this for excessive hiccups lasting over 7 days at a time. I did a search on google after using all the other hiccup meds and within a half hour they ceased. My hiccups i think were caused by prednisone. Couldnt sleep, eat got dehydrated. It was terrible.
 
All this talk of "not wanting to mess with brain chemistry".... if we have anxiety isn't that EXACTLY what we want to do since clearly our normal state of "brain chemistry" is obviously not good/correct (to be clear, above average levels of anxiety, not normal everyday anxiety)? I used to be incredibly against SSRIs and would hear Joe Rogan talk about how terrible they were on his podcast etc. I was having AWFUL GAD and SA and finally went to the VA for help. I did NOT want an SSRI like I said so I wanted to try Buproprion (yes I know, it can increase anxiety in some, but it did not in me) just because it hit different receptors. Some months went by and I felt a bit better but nothing crazy, so my doc suggested adding in a small dose of SSRI. I added 25mg of Sertraline a couple months and I feel GREAT guys.

For example: when talking to someone I wasn't REALLY close with I used to get very, very anxious and uncomfortable pretty quickly and it would start to get noticeable; I would start tripping over my thoughts because my brain was working 10x faster than my mouth, I might start sweating or fidgeting alot, etc. Now I find I feel much more relaxed in situations like these. I hope it continues and I just wanted to throw my 2 cents out there!

Confused.. Going in for more back surgery. Severe pain but because of the opiate hoopla was prescribed Gabapentin. Did some research. Reviews were very good but heard was a nightmare to come off. Anxiety,panic attacks, come back with vengeance . Neighbor said she tried to come off and went threw hell. Again reviews were great. Any input on this would be appreciated

I should have been included gabapentin. Ive used it and have had good results, but cognition issues related to lomg term use concern me. So, Ive only used it periodically.

A simple addition of niacin can help with anxiety.

Niacin is amazing. The flush form gives me a bit of an antidepressant effect.

Lemon balm - i like New Chapter Lemon Balm Force (found it on amazon). A serving size is 1 capsule and contains 300mg.

Glycine - 5g helps me sleep much better. Id try ot on a weekend to make sure its not too sedating. It could make you groggy in the morning.

Baclofen - ive read a huge range of doses but ive found 5-10mg up to a few times a day sufficient. There are studies involving using it for alcohol abstinence and the doses are much greater.
