Hey guys,I know there are threads on several different health topics.
But I was hoping everyone could contribute and once we get a list of the most important things then maybe we can move the list from here and make it a sticky. That way newbies like myself and even vets can go and look at the list and say hey I haven't been keeping up with such and such.
I figure it would be easier than chasing down 50 different threads.

Ok I'll start,I was thinking
Stay on top of your cardio year round
Eat a mostly clean diet year round
And get regular blood work
What do you guys think?

If there is already such a thread I apologize mods please delete.
But if we can get a list and make it a sticky maybe it will help someone.

So many people literally juice the shit out of themselves all year round. They don't compete and are dependent on this shit.

People need to be realistic. If you make a go at it and are somewhat successful then pursue it. But seriously its not even worth it. How many pros actually make a living doing this. 10-15. Out of the whole world there are like 20 guys that are big names. That says a lot.

I think it's important to come off. To be competitive its a lot of drugs, it really is. Don't be fooled. Its not something that should be taken lightly.

Back home on the east coast I remember a local dealer telling young kids to take a gram of test of the bat. This kid was such a dirt bag always condoning extreme dosages. educated yourself.
 
Just think about it

you think guys back in Arnold took Coq10 and all other bunch of shit like Fish oil ? No, even tho those supplements do work but I don't think they are necessary

What I think is using low doses and taking breaks with TRT, if people keep using 3 4 grams and take a bunch of coq10 and Fish oil thinking they are safe, then they are fucking idiots
 
Be realistic about your body weight. Being 280 fat or muscle is still not a natural state for your body and a strain on your organs. Almost all of us look much better and are healthier at lighter weights whether you want to admit it or not!

To me the above quote is spot on. As my Cardiology once said "your heart does not know the difference between good weight (lean) or bad weight (fat), all it knows is it has to pump blood to 280lb, which over time is putting a strain on you".
There is something to be said of the old timers (Arnold) and a few new guys (Heath, Levrone) that would grow into a show, instead of bulking way up. I have to say I have done the same (bulking) and I think Im done with it.
 
Have healthy parents, eat everything organic, avoid stress and drugs.

In addition to what has been mentioned, I really need to watch my stress levels. When I get really stressed out it seems that my body goes haywire. GI tract goes off, mood is terrible, feel run down...etc, etc....

1. Avoid using diuretics
2. Don't potassium load for a show
3. Don't cut water several days out from a show
4. NO NOT go hog wild on the food, water, and sodium after competing. Gaining extreme amounts of weight immediately post competition causes severe stress on the heart

MOST BODYBUILDING DEATHS SEEM TO OCCUR THE DAY OF THE SHOW AND THE TIME PERIOD RIGHT AFTER THE SHOW. THIS TIME PERIOD IS A HEART ATTACK WAITING TO HAPPEN

hahaha...well, yes. what I should have said is I'm thinking of buying your book based on that section alone.I'm hoping that I'll be happy with that decision. lol.

What I love about the book is that is a not froofy. It lays out the considerations and what needs to be monitored and what changes mean.

Great addition to any bodybuilder's library
