So guys, I developed IBS a year ago. In order to manage it I had to follow a low FODMAP diet, lower my food intake a bit as well as cut my protein intake in half.

For those of you in the know, what's your take on adding EAA's in order to help keep lean mass on?
 
Make sure the EEAs are not derived from diary and contain lactose. Many are.

These do not but contain sweeteners.

Its tricky with IBS, its trial and error.

Buy samples of dietary supplements and powders and experiment before purchasing.

I was thinking of using Vegan EAA's from Fundaminos as animal proteins play hell with my digestion.

I use this with success because it doesn't contain any sweetness, although I'm in the UK.

I'd try and find a whole protein powder first, then go after an EAA formula. Again, it will be trial and error. Supplement companies are notorious for not containing what's labelled and marketed.
 
ibs

Seems to be a trend lately.I have it myself and im scheduled for a colonosopy.Its not dairy so i can rule that out.Certain serotonon reuptake inhibtors can be a problem.check to see if your on any meds that would trigger it.I noticed when my stress levels are high i have bad ibs.Could be gmos also.Do your research.
 
I have diagnosed crohns disease and suspect also ibs altho havent bothered with docs as just put u on meds. I prefer to just avoid foods that cause me trouble rather than take docs meds so to be able to carry on eating food that wasnt heathy to begin with i. E processed. Trouble is for me that i cant tolerate milk or cheese or bread or pasta.silver lining is this all forces us to eat healthy and be in much better shape. Im in better shape now at 48 than when was 28! Its trial and error as has been said but yeah supps more hassel than whole food! Vegan protein fine but even then they contain peas as far as im aware which can be trouble to some. Whey isolate seems to be ok for me if i dnt over do it. Good luck with colonoscopy not pleasent.look into food insensitivity tests also
