I have a feeling people have already tried this, but I just love it. Whenever I need a sweet fix, I mix one of these up, and I am good to go.
Here's the ingredients:
-Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Chocolate flavor (Unsweetened)(almond milk)
-True Protein Chocolate LBS
-Hershey's Special Dark 100% Cacao powder
-Splenda/Saccharin/etc.
-Water
If you want to use this with a carbo of your choice, go right ahead. I buy the Almond breeze off the aisle, the one you can store outside the fridge.
Here's what I do:
Get a large glass (16oz or more).
-Add 8-12oz Almond Breeze
-Add 1 tbsp Hershey's special dark 100% cacao and Mix.
-Add 4-8oz of water (or more to reduce thickness)
-Add 1-3 servings of Chocolate LBA's and mix
-Add sugar/splenda/carbo and mix (1 packet of splenda is fine)
Enjoy... it is delicious... oh and good for you. Here is the nutritional facts. Notice the fiber numbers.
Based on 12oz almond breeze, 1 tbsp cocoa, 2 servings LBA, and a calorie free sweetener.
Fat: 5.75g (0 Saturated, 5.25g from almond milk)
Carbs: 17.5g (0g sugar, 3.5g dietary fiber, 10g sugar ester from LBA)
Protein: 16g (12g from LBS, 3g from almond milk, 1g from cocoa)
You can always add some more water to hold some protein powder or add more LBAs if you want the protein.
Either way, I think this is a great pre-workout drink, as cocoa is great for that, or post workout, or just as a snack.
Tweak anyway you like, and find the taste and consistency you like. Crushed ice is always nice too.
Enjoy....
