First, go to Control Panel and select Folder Options. Then click on the "View" tab. Then scroll down until you see "Hide Extensions For Known File Types" and uncheck the box. Then click Apply and close out of everything.
To create a batch file simply right click on your desktop and select "New", then "Text Document". Name it whatever you like, and change the extension from ".txt" to ".bat". Windows will warn you that you are changing the type of file, and just OK it.
Then right click the batch file and select "EDIT". It will then more than likely open in Notepad. If it doesn't, and it asks you, select notepad from the list of programs to open it.
This is for present and future batch file creation from diagnosis and updates within this forum.
