stats:

Age 22
Weight 196
Height 6ft 1

I would like to compete at some point in the next few years. Recently ive been cutting and got from 208 to 196. But now looking at my body im just not sure where to go with it. What would you do??

Get back to 208lbs as fast as possible then keep growing.
After a few yrs of growing check back.
You have a good shape but at 6'1" it will take a while to fill out.
 
I'd keep my BF% as it is and try to put on muscle slowly and steadily.
 
Thanks mate. They were my thoughts too, nice to get confirmation from someone more experienced. Ill bump up the food then :)
 
If I had that body I would do my best not to fuck it up. You look like a healthy young guy. What's the problem?

Oh my bad... You want to compete. Well then I would work on your glutes and hams/calves, also reducing BF%.

Just overall size. Like above, glutes hams and calves need work. Give it at least a solid year to fill out your frame, then think about it. Good structure, just not filled out yet.
 
Also you need more defined abs. I don't see a a 4 pack. You look better than me though,
 
Lots of carbs and enough protein. You are in the perfect body fat range for maximum growing.

As soon as you see yourself getting too watery and adding fat, drop the carbs for a day or two, and then go back to high carbs.

Never lose your current conditioning, try your BEST to keep it.

The more muscle you add, the easier it will become to get super lean again.
 
I would eat like it was another full time job and spend at least a couple years traing DC style
 
Looking good. It's already been said, but I would consider focusing on calf and hamstring development. Keep up the good work!

Don't get silly with does But do get silly with diet. Track it and increase as you grow. and don't do something stupid like put on fat thinking your bulking.

Every time you walk in the gym should be treated like your last .

I wouldn't worry about BF right now. You are young
 
You are doing well. You are quite tall so need a lot of mass to fill yourself out.

I disagree with a few others above about going straight into mass gain mode.

You gain so much better the leaner you are, you could stand to lose another 10 pounds and then go for it. When you cut hard the body is primed for growth - the rebound effect is huge.
 
Eat, eat and then eat some more! Grow from good quality carbs and proteins
